Yes, just ask your Lexus dealership to turn them off for you. They did it for me, for free! I don't like DRL's.

It's a 'hidden' LPS (Lexus Personalized Setting) option. If you ask nicely the dealer can disable them. Most of the time they are b1tching about it though. But it is possible, I got mine turned off.

I don't understand why people don't like drl's. Yeah, I guess we all have personal preferences, but I laugh at the threads with "full power drl's," questions/how to's.

They are an ugly yellow and DRL should be reserved for motorcyclists !

+1 - anything to equate motorcycles with cars in terms of visibility only hurts more motorcyclists.

There are no lights lit on my car with the light switch off since I had the DRLs turned off.

I'm not sure what amber light you are referring to , but there are no lights lit on my F during the daytime.

I had mine turned off (IS350) because they looked like headlights going dim from a dying car battery.

DRL's are a requirement in Canada. Most Foreign and US Auto Manufacturers, who sell cars in the US, have chosen to use them in the US even though it's not required here. As has been said, if you feel strongly about it, they can be turned off. Again, in Canada, it's against the law to turn them off.

DRL has been shown to reduce car accidents simply because they make your cars more visible to oncoming traffic, this may be more important if you live in the Northwest. personally, i don't think it's a good idea to turn them off. if the color bothers you, consider changing to LED's although that would compromise high beam light.
