Default ISF: Park Assist

Why do NO vehicles in California have park assist any more? I want PARK ASSIST!!!! Anybody with any thoughts on this? I am trying to buy a vehicle with this option, which appears to be a standard option in other regions???

Has anyone added OEM Park Assist?

On an IS-F? Didn't think that was an option?

It's not an option on the F.

Practice your parking more and you won't need it.

If he's talking about the proximity sensors, it is an option, and my car (as well as most southeast IS-Fs) come with it.

Yeah, I'm in CA and have PA. It was a bit of a pain to get as not many dealers had it. I do find it somewhat useful though and it probably saved my bumper once so far.

I just picked up a used '08 in north Texas and it has park assist. It was a $500 option on my car. This car was originally sold by Sewell in Dallas.

This might help, it's directly from Lexus US website:

The region office dictates what is sent out to dealerships. The dealerships tell the region office what they want, the region office decides what to allocate to dealerships based on what the demand is. Here in the Western Region (services 12 or 13 states...I forgot) IS F's only come Mark Levinson and Navigation only. In the other regions, they are packaged differently as well. In the Southern Region, it is ML/NAV and PA, in the mid west and eastern regions, ML/NAV,PA and Headlamp Washers.

My 2009 IS F which I bought from Longo was special ordered. I had to wait for a ML/NAV and Park Assist Car. Because the Western Region does not order cars with Park Assist, they had to basically steal my car from the Southern Region's allocation. My car was actually intercepted in Japan at the factory, before it landed at the port in Long Beach.

As for those who have PA on their 2008 here in CA, those were early allocation cars or demo vehicles.

My previous 07 GS had both Park Assist and H/L Washers. I have no need for headlamp washers here in SoCal and it makes a mess after it's utilized. Because my previous GS had Park Assist, I had to get it on the F. Here's my special order 2009 IS F w/Park Assist.

I bought my F from Crown Lexus with no PA. I asked the dealer about it, and it was mentioned that they were not going to get any more F with PA...indicated it was not really needed (sales speak I guess). I think it just to enhance dealership margins with a relatively fixed price point.

Yeah - all Cali dealers are saying the same thing, as well as Nevada dealers... no PA unless special order.

Very unhappy.... I know how to part well, but that doesn't mean others in my family (who MAY drive the vehicle) have the same skillset... :-)
