Yes you do, especially if you plan on doing any mods in the future and want a fairly reliable baseline to measure off.
Maxing out 6th gear on that dyno is pretty safe. I'm getting a little nervous about my dyno session scheduled for Nov 1st on the dynojet.
While I would agree if I were in search of the peak number, I think I can take the same measurements (with this baseline held constant) and still weigh it on a percentage basis. Area of the curve and shape are what matters most to me and should to anyone looking at performance gains. Peak numbers will always vary IMO. I just wish I had done it while it was setup before for arguments sake.
I think the torque curve and the HP curve do not cross @5250 is because the torque axis and the hp axis are on different settings or values.... if this is not the case then forget this post
Actually, not a major difference, rather a very small difference. Peak dropped by 3 rwhp.
Interesting.. thanks for trying...
Our Dyno Jet runs in 6th gear repeated the same peak rwhp several times in the 333 rwhp range..
Which was basically an approx 20% loss in the drivetrain..
