A few people have done it so far. I'm planning on doing mine soon as well. Here is a huge thread that might help you. Its not for the F but other IS models

I have done the hardwiring on my IS-F and it works for both V1 and
Escort 9500ix.
I have done it by following the instruction from that URL.

I believe there are a couple of links in the 2nd gen IS FAQ sticky at the top of the 2IS subforum. Should be the same.

$1500 for the SRX or 9500ci vs $399 for the V1... I too loved to have a nicely integrated one, but wifey seems to disagree...

Lets not go down that route again. V1 vs 9500i has been beaten to death, resuscitated, and beaten again. After all that, it still comes down to personal preference. Me? I prefer 9500i because of GPS and how its quiet.

The windshield mount 9500i works pretty good if you don't want to put out the cash for an integrated unit, the GPS alert lockout is really cool.
I have two friends who gave up their V1 for the 9500i and they both love it.
