Default 12.67@112mph IS-F

Well it was my first time at the track in the IS-F. I wouldn't have gone had it not been for a member over at DCEVOClub who rented out the track from 9am to 2pm for a charity event. I asked Zexnos last night if he wanted to run his IS350 with his Borla exhaust and JoeZ intake. To my surprise he said he and his wife would love to go. We could have easily got 30+runs in if we wanted to. I did 11 runs total and averaged 12.8x@110.x. My best run was a 12.67@112.06mph.

My first two runs were done completely stock. I then switched over to the IS350 rear wheels with the 245/35/18 R compounds. The wheel/tire combo worked great as I was hitting consistent 1.9 60ft times, but with the gearing change/smaller diameter tires I ended up having to make an extra shift into 5th right before the end of the 1/4mile. So needless to say the initial benefits with the drag setup was negated toward the end with the extra shift required. I went back to the Stock wheels for the remainder of the day where I still managed respectable 60ft times still in the 1.9's and low 2.0's and was able to crossing the line at the top of 4th gear.

Weather Stats (See signature for my drag strip journal)

Car stats:
Bone Stock
Paddle shifted, Sport mode, VSC off
Racing weight: 3860lbs

Launches were done with brake torquing at 1100rpm
Fuel started off with slightly less than 1/2 tank but was down to almost a 1/4 by the end of the event.

YouTube video of my best run today. Unfortunately it was the worst run for Zexnos with his jump off the line a bit early and hesitation Overall he was hitting consistent 13.4's@101mph which is excellent for the weather conditions and being on snow tires. He is running Borla off-road along with the JoeZ pipe. We were going to try my drag tires on his car, but he forgot the wheel lock so that will have to wait until another day.

YouTube video compilation from today

Oh man that's awesome. What is your goal with the IS F times?

I got my fastest time a few months back at CA Speedway w/JoeZ, JavyLSU and CrazyMPG with that same exact setting, Sport, Paddle shift and TRAC/VSC OFF. I tried it with Sport, Auto and TRAC/VSC OFF, although consistent, hurt it a few tenths.

Thanks! My goal is to get a 12.5@113mph or quicker run bone stock in cooler weather. I can only hope then that the track will be prepped and that the tires will give me a descent launch. I don't really have much planned for this car in the way of mods as it already beats my expectations.

I never tried in full auto mode, but some have told me that it's a tad quicker which I just don't believe. Shifting the car in manual mode seems to give the fastest perceived shifts and as long as I'm shifting in time before hitting the rev limiter it works great. Maybe next time I'll try just leaving it in sport mode a few times and see what happens.

Insane times man. Congrats! I'm waiting for cooler weather myself and some better track prep. Great vids too. This car just keeps on impressing me.

caymandive, what does that mean "brake torquing at 1100 rpm"? Also, you shift at what RPM?

What I mean by brake torquing is that as I am staged at the tree I hold the brake and get the rpms up to around 1100rpm, which preloads the wheels for a more powerful out of the hole shot.

As for shifting I try to shift right when the car bleeps at me, hopefully before it hits the rev limiter.

Congrats on having the fastest IS-F time! Did you reduce the rear air pressure or remove the spare?

I'll be back in the next few months (when it gets colder) to see if I can get close. BTW, how did you keep it cool between runs? Mine seems to go slower and slower as I wait for my next run.
