Maybe I am remembering this wrong, but isn't sport mode more designed for the twisties/track? I thought I remember reading that better 1/4 mile times are achieved in the normal setting using the paddels, which does not make much sense to me.

Isn't that why the better 1/4 mile times are in Normal mode with VSC disabled?

Hopefully Caymandrive or Toothdoc can shed more light on the setting they use on the 1/4 tracks. I'm almost positive they're running it in sport mode to lock the torque converter and get the quick shifts from 2-8th

I've tried all possible combinations, best times are achieved with SPORT+MANUAL+VSC OFF.

All the auto magazines and myself agree with you.

Interesting, I remember Cayman saying in the IS350 he got better times with ECT/Power disengaged.

I have it on right after start the engine. Feel like driving a V6 under 'normal' mode

Is it bad that I leave my F in snow mode most of the time, even when it's not snowing?

Default You guys are right!

I actually never even used sport mode until this thread, I am still under 300 miles despite skipping lunch everyday to drive around the block. But after reading these post I built up enough courage to try sport mode, what a freakin' difference! I wonder if I'll keep my MPG up now! I guess I could convert lunch money into the gas money in the worst case scenario
