Forgot to mention, I ran at Lonestar Motorsports Park yesterday. Of course today it's not as humid and 10 degrees cooler!

Road & Track documented a 1/4 mile of 12.6 in their latest issue compared against the RS4, M3, and C63. So I would say we are well into the 12s with the IS-F.

1/4 mile:
C63 - 12.5
IS-F - 12.6
RS4 - 13.0
M3 - 13.0

On the 0-60:
C63 - 4.1
IS-F - 4.2
RS4 - 4.5
M3 - 4.6

Does this mean I have to start training to get the fastest IS-F time??? I can practically hear the Rocky music playing already.

how about someone puts two BF tires heat them up really good and powerbrake agressive and see what numbers the car can put down.. I have two tires waiting for my car to arrive. but just wondering if someone would do it first if not I wait and post when its done

That's a pretty nice time. Some DR's on that thing would get you into the low 12's no problem!

I did 12.93 (using the Gtech 1) today. 1/2 tank, freeway on-ramp. 0-60 in 4.45.

About 60 degrees... I weigh about 170 pounds.. Nothing removed from the car.. Finally, it wasn't a straight on-ramp. Veers slightly to the left. I put the car in sport mode and left it in automatic.

Tomorrow I'll try it in manual mode and then I'll try it in manual w/ VSC disabled.

Coming off idle the car won't 60' like it should, powerbrake to 2k rpm and any more it'll smoke the tires off the line. It's a tough car to launch on a track that isn't perfect. I used to get 1.8xx in my 335i all the time but the best I could do with the IS-F is 2.00x

What you just said is like the story of my life at the track with my IS-F. You think it would be easy b/c it's an automatic but it is very tough.

Side story. I was at the Lexus Performance Driving Academy on Friday morning for the IS-F session. Unreal by the way, you people need to get on a track to really appreciate this car. Anyways, I was walking with one of the event employees who was also doing some testing of the new Merc C63 AMG at another event. I told him my fastest time with my IS-F was 12.83 and his jaw practically hit the floor. He said the fastest they could get the C63 to go was a 12.8 something too. He said the Lexus' gearbox is night and day better to than the one used in the Merc. and that it does not use a locking torque converter like the Lexus' and is a lot tougher to use. Thought some IS-F owners would like to have heard that first hand experience about the C63.

I am getting the new stage 3 software from Dinan next week and I expect to pull low 12's with that speed upgrade. I will post pics after I get the car badged up.

While this is hardly a BMW forum, I did have one question regarding the Dinan 335i. In early 2007 Steve Dinan stated that oil temps on the twin turbo were running high. BMW subsequently added an additional oil cooler in later '07 and '08 models to fix this problem, but that was on a stock 335i. What did Dinan end up doing on your car to prevent 300 degree oil temps on an already taxed engine? I'm sure your car is awesome fast, but I had a first batch 335i and oil temps were 270 - 280 degrees under normal driving.. Just curious.

isn't it kinda sad IMO that the IS-F costs so much more but it's that much faster at a dragstrip compared to the IS 350? I mean, I know it gets harder exponentially to get a car to go faster and faster but damn. must be a pita to find Caymandive keeping up with most of you at the strip lol

LOL just wait until the Fall comes back around. We will see plenty of 12.5 and below runs from the IS-F in cooler weather. I'm going to be hitting the drag strip sometime with a buddy of mine in his IS-F, which should make for some fun. I'm totally expecting to be beat by 3/10ths and 7mph.
