Nice shots!

I think by light-painting he meant did you use a flashlight or some other light source to "paint" the scene with light while you had the shutter open. What's your gear?

Haha, excuse my photography noobness Todd...

I'm shooting with a Canon 40D+17-55 2.8 IS. It was literally pitch black up there, and the only thing we had to search around with was a flashlight. Then I had an idea of using the flashlight to spotlight the car, and... voila. Thanks for the compliments everyone!

Nice pics! Did you use other lights besides the flash? on the 3rd picture, it looks like the light were concentrated in one area.

Nice touch on the person in the background.
