Default Deposit Anyone?

Just find out from my dealer that I am from #4 on the waiting list to #1 now.
People are dropping out of wait list. WHY?

I'll be honest... i love the car, but the price tag is hefty!!

For less than $1,200 bucks you can get an IS350 in the high 12's down the 1/4 mile.. quicker than a OEM IS-F

In my opinion is just too much money for the changes found from nicely modded IS350..

in Europe, IS-F price is said to be 70-75 euros and it will be in full spec only hatch and pre-crash can be added.

by the way, it is said, that Europe won't ger BLUE color...sad... ;( ..it means I am going with WHITE!

You're not getting one either?? Too bad. I admit the price is higher than what was anticpiated. The reviews however, are mostly positive.
I will stick by my original decision: I will get it if they accept $33K for my 2006 IS350, and finance portion to be between $25K to $30K. I doubt they will accept my offer, but it's worth a shot.
If I get married before that then I guess the whole deal might fall appart, and I get my $500 deposit back. :P

I think it comes down to the price. People were expecting a price closer to $50K than to $60K. I think it is unreasonable to price the car at $60K for a base model. With that starting point it would be about $70K out the door with the options that most people want.

Attention Lexus: Overpricing this car is a big mistake!

Honestly, I love the car, but there are a lot of choices out there today. I want to wait and see if I can snap a GTR at MSRP after a year or so after the release date. I also have the deposit for E92 M3 which I don't think I will be getting either.

It'll be interesting to see how much insurance is on the E92 vs. the IS-F. If the E92 is anything like the E46 and the IS-F is anything like normal Lexus, then they're not going to be in the same ballpark.

I pulled my deposit also... I was looking for a base price of around 48-50K with a nav version around 55K. I think 10-12K over a base is350 is a fair starting point for the IS-F. I can't justify giving up my 06 IS350 for an additional 30K+.

Based on all the reviews seen so far; I would only buy it after a Test Drive!!! I have a deposit of 1k at JM from feb06.

Suspension 90% stiffer than IS350 tells me don't buy it before a test drive and see if it feels right for the daily driving! IMHO only!
