Lexus IS-F vs. Nissan SKyline 370 GTS Video Link

I am disappointed with the heads up race. 0-400M only .6 seconds difference.
And the lap time on a track between G37 (Skyline 370GTS) vs. IS-F only resolve in a 1.5 second difference. Compare to the Evo IX and STi vs. G37 (Skyline 370GTS) both has 3+ seconds difference lap time AND the Evo X (both GSR and SST) has 2+ seconds difference lap time. So the difference that IS-F had on G37 (Skyline 370GTS) was not that impressive. I mean on a track!
Evo IX did a 1'06"264
STi did a 1'06"581
Evo X GSR did a 1'06"919
Evo X SST did a 1'07"360
IS-F did a 1'08"107 & 1'08"494
G37 (Skyline 370GTS) did a 1'09"618

Regardless, the IS-F was the victor in that video.

sorry to bust in and put a downer, but the ISF was not made for the track. actually, neither was the g37 as proven by this video http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...arch&plindex=0
even the worse evo x is faster around the track pulling in 1:07 times. 350z also pulls in around 1:07.

I was fortunately able to view it a few hours ago. It was a clip from Best Motoring, with no English narration.
IS350jet,
You may not be familiar with Best Motoring, but they are a very reputable video magazine. They may have print as well, not sure. Their videos are very much race oriented. They did have timing mechanisms laid out at 200 and 400 meters. I agree the smoking tire start was odd. This was a "driving impression" video, as was the "drift impression" video that flipside909 had also posted. Unfortunately for me, I do not understand Japanese and could only gather the objective timing data from what was displayed on screen. Hopefully, we will see an English narrated version of these impressions soon.

Can't wait for the best Motoring & GTboard.com vids with the IS-f vs the E92 M3. Not to ruffle any feathers, but the E92 M3 walked over its current competion the Audi RS4 in a GTboard.com head to head video.. I am curious how the IS-F will fair in a head to head with the M3?

Best Motoring always does its videos this way. The lack of visual evidence for something in a single perspective video is not proof that such does not exist.....

The 1.5s+ difference between the IS-F and the G37 is more than the difference between the McLaren F1 and the Evo IX also tested by Best Motoring on Tsukuba, so what's your point, really? Does that make the McLaren not an impressive car? -_- Around such a short track, 1.5s+ is an eternity.

Usually with factory tuner cars you find that if you took the regular model and modded it to the level of the tuned model, you would find that you either have surpassed the cost of the tuner model, or reliability has been so compromised that the little bit of cost savings didn't make it worthwhile.
In this case, I don't believe either applies. This cost difference is too great, and that is what I'm trying to reason out.
I do like the car a lot, but I'm dissappointed by the price. Not so much on affordability (this isn't that segment), but on what I would get for the money.
