IS-f vs M3 vs RS4... ALL AT THE SAME TIME...

I dunno... im a lexus fanboi but that review... that was alittle too over the top and unrealistic for me. I can see beating out a rs4 but a m3... I'd like to see a review once the is-f newness wears off.

I dont think it was unrealistic, and those who say it walked away from the m3 and rs4 to fast during the acceleration test obviously hasnt driven past someone a few miles an hour faster, 10 mph faster than someone going 55 and your doing 65 and your runnin away from them, so that lexus walking away is not unrealistic at all

They made it seem like the IS-F flew by the Audi and M3 just like a "ricer fly by" would do after he loses a race.

That was an interesting video, but as with anything on the internet, we can take it for what it is, a video about the IS-F. The other cars were just there and it appeared that the outcome had been determined before the competition even began. Just my .02.

I like the article and it made me feel more confident about the IS F being a top contender if nothing else. I think that it's a fair assessment of the F in my opinion. As far as the article being biased. Let's be real folks, EVERY car enthusiasts, specialist, professional car driver or whatever title you can come up with will lean toward one brand name car over the other for any number of reasons. For all the years that M3 has out performed other cars in its class, I guess we're all a little biased (Even Lexus fans) toward the IS F being capable of out performing it in some aspects. Is the IS F a better overall car than the M3 or the RS4? Depending upon who you ask sure it is! The facts are simply this. All 3 cars are fast, reliable and luxurious to some degree. So why even debate over which is the best because it's all subjective to the liking and preference of the car owner. At the end of the day and I've always felt this way, no matter what any other automaker do to try to over throw the M3, it will never happen because BMW, its biased magazine enthusiasts, and it's fan base has played these Jedi mind tricks for so long....even some of the Lexus folks can't believe that the M3 has finally met its match! Now that's some bias for your as*

Clearly a piece to promote the IS-F. I dont think they said anything negative about the IS-F. And the spacing between the cars during the acceleration and braking tests were damn near perfect.
Very nice video and it really is a contender without a doubt, but again, I'll wait till the other car rags test the cars out together.

I think it was Motor Trend, but could have been C&D, but they had a first drive and pegged the IS-F at 4.7S. In the same issue, they had a M3, R4S, and C67 comparo and all three, if I remember correctly, had faster 0-60 numbers than the IS-F, so I'm not sure how 'legit' this video is, but it was good to see nonetheless, to see an IS-F kick butt.
Here's the thing with the M3, unless you're a professional driver, you'll never do the 4.5 or 4.7 or whatever 0-60, but since the IS-F is an auto, you'll get your consistent best 0-60 of the IS-F, whatever that eventually is.
Ricer or not, this car will kick some serious butt...

Perhaps someone has a better explanation of what happened there, but I find that video a little fishy.

Those weren't "tests," they were promotional materials. What real test driver drives without a helmet? Get real. I know nothing more about the IS-F vs. the competition than before I wasted 8:20 watching that video.
Brake tests involve repeated stops, they did none. Lapping tests involve timing - there was none. Acceleration tests show all three cars, not an in-car camera with a brief shot of the track. The drivers sucked, all three cars plowed like farm implements, and I'm even less impressed Lexus thinks enthusiasts will think this is anything remotely like a fair comparison.
