Just got a ride in the IS-F
Just got back from the Lexus Driving Experience at Laguna Seca. I got there at 7:45am and there were only 2 people in my group. We got the first rides in the 2 IS-F's that just came in from Japan. Very awesome car. The throttle blips by itself on downshifts and upshifts are very fast and crisp. The sound is terrific and the car is really planted in the corners. I'm worried about the brakes though. After our hot laps with a full car the brakes were smoking and the driver decided he needed to do a cool down lap.

Looks pretty damn good in those pictures. First real shots I've seen of a color other than blue.

Looks awesome in red!!!!
Sounds like it will be a great performer.
Not sure if I like these new dark wheels though. I liked the shiny ones on the prototype IS-F more.

It looks different than Matador Red in person. A little more brighter.

Nobody was timing anything and the car had 4 people in it for demo laps so it wouldn't be valid anyway.

So was it FAST or just a little bit faster than IS 350 ? How was the gearbox compared to the one in IS X50 ?

It was louder, faster, stiffer than any current IS. The transmission shifted in .1 sec and automatically blipped the throttle on downshifts. The driver told me the traction control has multiple settings but he said it never came on during our test drive and it even allowed the car to drift some but still did not come on.

I am so sad I missed this. I was texting Ryan today
to see what the deal was.

No, I didn't hear anything about the GS460 but did not ask either.
