Default Anyone run 285/35 on stock 2008 wheels?

Hello. I'm asking because i want to run with drag radial m/t in the back of my car but i don't want rubbing . My car is completly stock suspension wise and i would put the d/r on stock wheels. Any info would be appreciated. It's for daily driving not just dragstrip. I know some drive 285/30 but didn't heard of 285/35. Tanx

I don't think a 285 will fit on an 8 inch rim without being too tall. Though i am no wheel expert lol.

^^^^The rear wheel is 9" and 8". I don't recommend a 285/35/19, the OD is 1" more than stock.

If your only going to run this around town and on the drag strip, I would say give it a try. The taller sidewall is going to slow your MPH in the 1/4 though. I have seen some guys running the M/T SS 285/35r19 on other brands with 9" width rims.

I thought the taller tire will increase your mph in the 1/4?

^^^^No, since the larger OD effectively raises the rear axle ratio number, you will go slower.

Depending on your setup a good max performance tire in 275/30r19 or 285/30r19 should work just fine. My RE-11's hook pretty damn good with a little heat in them.

Yeah i was wondering about lifespan too. As long as they can kast 7000 miles i can live with that. That would be a season for me as I'm in deep snow in my rx the rest of the year.

for drag racing more sidewall is what you want, for DD more sidewall is what you want. anything less than a 40 series tire will affect ride quality when you travel on less than perfect roads. this is referring to the IS F, M3, GT R type of cars. I wish i could go at least with a 40 series tire for DD on 19 inch wheels.
