Hi everyone, I have been reading the forums for about a year now and finally got around to making a account.

I have been in the market for a 08/09 IFS for almost 6 months now. I think i may have found a 08 that meets my requirements. I wanted to reach out to the forum and ask what they thought about the price? Some info on the car,,,,

-one owner 2008
​​​​​​-about 64k miles
-brand new all season tires

-also throwing in a set of used winter tires ( im told they are "almost new", lets say 70%new)

-Front brakes 9 millimeters left and rear brakes 8 millimeters left im told.

​​​​​​-all maintenance records are there and up to date besides the 60K maintenance. Also, i do not think the water pump has been changed.

​​​​​​-Price $26,750

I was hoping to find a 08 for about 25k. The brand new tires and extra "like new" winter tires may justify the difference in price. So what do you guys think about the price of this 08 ISF ?

First off, welcome to the forum.

I think it's a pretty good price, especially for a one owner low mileage car (assuming it's got a clean title).

What color is it?

For 1 owner and low miles, I'd jump all over it at the price if there are service records online/from owner. Plug VIN to lexus owners website or run a carfax.

Saying that, I assume the car has met your standards of cleanliness. If not, don't settle.

Clean title,records are from the Lexus dealership. The front bumper has some rash on one side and was told a minor crack in the rear bumper. I was told both bumpers are in the process of being wet sanded and professionally painted with a 5 year warranty. I will need to fly to see the car in person.

Do do you know how much life is left on the brakes if they currently have 9mm in the front and 8mm in the back ?

if the car has not been an accident. sounds like a solid deal. You've been in the market for 6 months. if its the right color and all maintenance has been up to date at a Lexus dealer with only one owner, don't miss out. The last thing you'll worry about while you're driving your F is the price you paid. You're $1750 away from driving a car you've been in the market for. Stress less about the minor things and do it! You'll thank me later!

If I recall correctly, OEM pads start at 11mm. Some have stated that they measured at 7mm after 15-20k miles. One really cannot state simply by miles how long pads can last, especially if you're planning to go to the track or do some spirited runs that require immediate braking.

Price wise, I would say that's pretty fair considering there aren't too many locally in the area to choose from. Lexus records do account for something. Knowing that it was maintained, whether at the dealer or at home is key in seeing how well the car was cared for. Honestly, it can't hurt to really take a good look at it. Very few examples come up these days, and by that I mean condition wise, so check it out. Hopefully it's exactly what you're aiming for.

sounds about right, give or take $1500 depending on condition once seen in person. first IS F i saw was pretty rough shape for $26,000 so I passed and got an 08 for less in way better shape. if i would to sell mine, i'd ask for about that. i have KW V3, Vorsteinner wheels, X force exhaust, RR racing intake and front/rear lip/diffuser.

Are you OK with All-season tires? Last time I bought a car with AS tires I ended up throwing them away and buying proper summers.

​​​Keep in mind that 60k maintenance is not cheap at Lexus. If it's not done you might as well add that money to the cost of the car. I just did 60k on IS350 and it's about $1000 bucks + will be flushing transmission as well for another $250-300. And ideally you might need to do valve clearance on ISF, no?

If you add all that up, you are already entering a price bracket of 2010 cars (give or take some $$$) which come with LSD etc.

Edit: spend another $3k and get 2011 ISF from member in here with 60k maintenance already done. MUCH better deal then that 08
