That's funny your friends went from one carbon build up engine to another (BMW) lol

N54 was about as bad as IS250 (15k oil intervals didn't help either), N55 at least doubled the cleaning interval (roughly to 100k or more)

Don't sip the kool aid just yet. Uncle works for BMW of Seattle, says the F80 has been solid since it's debut.

First gen 335 with that twin turbo N54 was a nightmare, the N55 is much much better all around. But like any european car, it comes with a cost outside of warranty. That's just life, if you choose to accept it

I'm sure nobody really cares, but I was the one that had those banners made to display at our Lexus stores. It has saved many people who were planning to look at other brands from even wasting their time test driving anything other than a Lexus before buying one from us. Thanks Vitveet for sharing it with the community!

If not rod bearings, throttle actuator(s) had to have made the list.

Pro tip: Buy used E92M with rod bearings and actuators already replaced. Enjoy screaming V8 matched with one of the best DCT gearboxes. Winning.

Still plan to buy one. Love em.
