2013 ISF Vs 2012 E92 Video #3
So Finally we got around to doing our newest run, main difference this time is the E92 got a few more goodies installed:
Since our last Race he installed:
- Macht Schnell Stainless Steel Race X-Pipe (Catless)
- ESS ECU-Flash Performance Software
- ESS Performance DCT Software
- 19" Volk TE37 SL
For me the difference since our last race is:
- RR Racing Tune
- Figs 2 piece front rotors
I found it much harder to keep up this time around, if I slightly over shifted he would get me and it's difficult to pass him. If I shift perfectly then I get him but he keeps up much better than before.
I felt his ESS DCT Tune made a big difference, look at how his car jumps between the shifts it never used to jump like that before so the tune has made it much more aggressive and makes a noticeable difference.
Enjoy

Looks like you need the RR tuned intake to go with the tune/header/exhaust combo! Car breathes better with headers and exhaust paired with the larger intake....

Low speed rolls are a killer for the F. The tq advantage translates to wheel spin while the M3 hooks and books. If you could put down the power you would have won almost all of those low speed rolls.

The transmission tune made a big difference imo, look at how the car jumps between shifts, his car never used to change gears so aggressively before so the ESS trany tune made a good difference.
This is my conclusion from the race, if I shifted even slightly late then he would start pulling away. If I got the shift perfect then I'd pull on him.
Quiet a bit but I can't really remember for every race. In some runs you can hear the wheels spinning but even the M3 spun a few times.
One thing I think you guys are forgetting.
The E92 M3 weights much lighter than the ISF and makes similar power stock.
With the Light Weight Wheels (Volks) he's taken off even more in terms of weight and not only that but rotational mass weight which makes and even bigger difference.
That's why I took out my spare tire because he had installed the Volks and I told him we're changing too many variables as I would have rather raced him on his OEM wheels like before.
Anyway bottom line for me is it comes down to a driver's race. With some aftermarket wheels I'm sure the outcome will differ slightly.
I am in no way disappointed, I'm actually happy we've managed to do this comparison as it's been a while since our last race.
Also one more thing to note before I did my tune my car ran close to 370whp so there's something going on as it should be closer to 400whp (possibly an exhaust leak).
Other than this I have had the issue of low KCLV and only managed to get it up to 19 for the race so that's even more variables.
