I was chasing a vacuum leak on my old 335i and couldn't find it, even with the carb cleaner method. Ended up replacing ALL the vacuum hose in the engine bay, and only then did I find a small tear near the end of one line - it was so small and on the bottom side of one component that I'd have never found it without removing it. It was a bit of a pain, but obviously worth it.

Regarding Nick's high AFR corrections, We have sold MANY of these tuned intakes without issue. It is possible, after verifying there are no air leaks, that for some cars (very rare) we have to tweek the MAF calibration a bit at low loads in closed loop only. To adjust it is simple, we just need a simple OBD log of your car idling and cruising at low load. The parameters you want to log are MAF, RPM, and short term and long term AFR corrections. That's it. and you can use any OBD wifi iphone logger like Veepeak ($16 on Amazon) and Dashcommand App from the app store.

Thanks Rafi. I just ordered mine and should have some logs for you soon.

Just curious about the VSV (vacuum switching valve) that was used for the stock intake..

What did you do with it? Plug it back up? Left it unplugged? Ran the vacuum line and closed it off as per the directions??

Thanks

In my printed instructions it shows to turn around the check valve going to the VSV, essentially making it a cap, since you will not see positive pressure from that line. My first thought when having issues was that the check line could be bad. So, I put a cap on the nipple coming off the manifold. I have run it both ways several times since then, but it accomplishes the same thing.

Quick update. I got the Veepeak OBDII module and downloaded Dash Command. It is a pretty cool app. There is quite a bit of customization available. Rafi gave me what he needed in terms of a log, so I made the file tonight and sent it off. I will post again once I have a new map from Rafi. Fingers crossed!

That video sounds like plug or coil pack breaking down.

No - but it does log total timing..which can also be used to see if you are getting full advance.

I have not found that in the Dash Command app.

I think it is called cylinder #1 timing advance or something like that.
