Default Rubbing in the the front and rear, tire guru help?

Well, installed my coils today and dropped the front a bit and I am rubbing at nearly full lock and on most rough imperfections and dips in the road. Most of it is in the front, but on slightly deeper potholes the rear also. With a second person in the car even more so. Really sucks having to avoid 90% of the road imperfections. For what it's worth the ride does seem smoother and less bumpy, but perhaps the rubbing is also because the suspension is now softer. I went with this setup as there were 2 others with exact same wheels and tires and both said only minor rubbing. Oddly enough both were even lower than me.

Any tips on what could be done? I am guessing I will have to go to a less meaty tire, and possibly stiffen the ride a bit. Hoping to have to avoid selling the wheels, but if I can't get it right and enjoy the car without stretching or running rubber bands, then what's the point? Goal was to have lighter/wider and more aggressive look without spacers or stretch and more comfort.

Current setup:
Front 19x9.5 35 245/40/19
Rear 19x10.5 45 275/35/19
BC Racing coilovers 14/10 Swift springs with 20F 25R from full stiff.
Wheels: Weds Sport SA-15R

Proposed setup: 245/35/19, 275/30/19.
Other option is 245/35/19 275/35/19. Would be cheaper but not sure if running same sidewalls would be bad/out of the rolling diameter range? I guess I could also do 235/35/19 and 275/30/19, but a 9.5" wide with a 235 would be slightly stretched and in the front it would worry me if I autox.
I could also raise it up, but it's honestly not that low, and I hate low cars. Heat gun massaging really wouldn't help as it's already rubbed through some of the front panel and the bolts have no where to go. Any input from anyone please?

EDIT: After a couple weeks I decided to go to the proposed setup of 245/35 275/30 and rolled the rear fenders. Also removed the front fender liner bolt and replaced with a smoother one. Rides like a dream at 20/25 setting from stiff, and more pics on page 2 of how it looks now. Very smooth and zero issues now, thanks all for the help!!!

First off - congrats! Car looks amazing.

I would start by stiffening the suspension a bit - I think I run 12 clicks from full stiff front and 15 rear (on swift 16/12), That should not affect ride too much.

Ultimately though, I think you are going to need a fender roll...

Edit: Proposed size (245/35/19, 275/30/19) will probably do the trick.. You are running some meaty sidewalls now.

Suggestions will run the gamut, from rolling the rear fenders to running negative camber, but the easiest solution will propbably be to run the "proposed" tire setup.

front 19x9.5 +22 255/35 hankook v12
rear 19x10.5 +30 275/30 hankook v12
dropped on bc coils 16/12 rates and I did 10 clicks from stiff on rear and 15 clicks from stiff front, rolled fenders and slight pull. I barely rub dips about 10% of the time and its usually when Im going 45mph+. On full turn I used to rub the front fender liner but I cut a piece off where I see it rubbing, I have about 1 finger gar between top tire and fender. hope this helps

Thanks guys. The front is the main issue but don't think a fender roll would help on the front as it seems to be mostly rubbing on the bolts and surrounding plastic, some of which has been rubbed through after only 10 miles. Attached a pic though it's hard to show.

Would it it be bad if I try to change just the front to 245/35 and left the rears at same sidewall with 275/35 in rear?

Yes. Fenders in the front are, for lack of better words, "factory rolled." As I think you have realized that 40 series in the front surely isn't helping.

First off, the car looks great

I'd say the rubbing problem is a combination of the relatively soft spring rates + the taller sidewall of the 245/40/19 tires.

Here's my set up:
Penske coilovers with 16/14 springs
Front: 255/35/19 Michelin PSS on 2012 wheels (+45 offset)
Rear: 275/30/19 Michelin PSS on 2012 wheels (+51 offset)
I'm also running 15mm H&R spacers all the way around, which gives me net offsets of +30(F) & +36(R).

As you can see, I'm running a wider tire up front with a slightly more aggressive offset & I don't have any rubbing issues during routine driving on the street (only during half-to-full wheel lock in reverse). Though, with aggressive driving, an extreme dip can compress the suspension enough for some brief rubbing (see the dip under the bridge @2:22 in this video).

Your car may be a bit lower than mine.. Though, it might just appear that way since the shorter sidewall of my 255/35 tires does increase the fender gap.

If you're going to swap tires, perhaps you can try a 255/35, since your wheels are plenty wide enough. They have a .7" shorter sidewall, plus you'll have additional grip up front where this car really needs it.

-Mike

its your brand and model tires. Ive ran same tire sizes but in more aggressive offsets/widths and i didn't rub. and i was lower than you and running near oem camber specs.

Also, 245/40..this is why you are rubbing. 245/35 will fix everything besides full lock out while rearing.

make sure your rear fenders are rolled flat.

Thanks for the tips guys. I raised front half an inch so far and replaced the bolts to more of a flatter rounded head design. Before it was tough to get a pinky in between the bolt by the fender/ side vent panel and the tire. Seems to have helped a bunch but looks a bit high in front now. I should be able to get away with just rolling the tears and being done but to go lower i'd likely need to go 245/35 front. I'll try that along with firming up the front to 15 instead of 20 clicks and see if that helps without any dash lights coming on due to same sidewall F and R. Otherwise may need to add 275/30 rears.
Will take photo tomorrow. Also Jondlss33 I have no idea how you don't rub, perhaps the roads are far better in CA than DC/MD or you are on firmer settings? Looks great though!!

Current height. Raised half an inch in the front. Much improved during a 200 mile road trip this weekend, only slight rubbing in rear but can be fixed with rolling or tire.
Ordered some Cont DWS 06 245/35, 275/30. Decided not to risk it and stay with different sidewall front and rear. Will allow me to go slightly lower and lighter and avoid the rubbing on half lock issues and major pothole rubbing.

I may have to follow your proposal setup too. I'm on 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 with two finger gaps. Rubs at every imperfection and I can't have passengers. On HKS coilovers. Now that I put on winter tires with higher profiles, I'm avoiding highway driving for the winter (rubs even when I'm turning the wheel)

I'm on the same suspension, running 245/35/19 in the front and 275/30/19 rear with no rubbing issues at all. Fenders aren't rolled.
