I had my windshield replaced recently from a crack that ran from the passenger's A pillar to the middle of the windshield. I got Pilkington glass, not Lexus, and it is indistinguishable from the OEM glass from a performance, tint, and protection perspective. I had it done in Charlotte, NC because I was on a business trip when the crack happened. I ended up staying an extra day to get it repaired. Total cost was $243. Pretty hard to complain about that.

Seat covers are a real PITA to install. If you have not done upholstery before, or have never used hog ring pliers, it isn't something you want to do yourself. I have some experience with both, so I did the install. The covers I got from a site sponsor and even with all the discounts applied, I still spent ~$1500 for top and bottom on the driver's side. Most people won't need the bottom one - I had a big scratch on mine I had planned to just get fixed, but when the side bolster wore through and split, I figured I might as well do both covers while I have the seat out and be good for another 8 years. If you are just buying the top, MyLParts sold it for $813.26 with the Club Lexus discount. At that spend, shipping is free. FYI, the bottom piece was $645.83 after CL discount. If I were doing it again, I would also order the foam for the bottom (it was definitely not in new condition) and the plastic pieces for the head rest as these are challenging to remove without damaging them.

This video, while not specific to Lexus, is a pretty fair representation of the level of effort involved. Not terribly difficult, but definitely not simple.

That's an amazing and unheard of price for this windshield. Isn't it like $1200 from the dealer?

The current part number for a 2008 is 56101539088N. MSRP is $533.35, Internet retailers can do much better. I have seen as low as $384.78 before shipping.

I got my windshield done at MobilePro Auto Glass, 8425 Old Statesville Road, Suite 19, Charlotte NC 28269. I have no affiliation with them, they just happened to be available and close to where I was staying at the time. Safelite was booked for days, so they were not an option, and I had no desire to drive three hours to Atlanta at "freeway" speeds and risk complete failure of the glass on the way. I was stunned at the price. I really expected to pay ~$500 installed with the rain sensor and everything, but these guys did an amazing job in record time and had me on my way home very soon after the install was complete.

My '08 just hit 106k and all I did was a water pump so far. But I did that just to get it done not because it was leaking. Toyota/Lexus based performance vehicles always seem to be hard to kill.

The average mileage for a '08 IS F is about 120k + but I've seen some at 300k...

Finally, I test drove a '08 with 93k mileage well maintained one owner car. In normal mode the car run normal as similar to my 350 until I hit pass near 4k rpm sweet spot to see good acceleration with amazing 2nd air intake sound. In sport mode, it's day and night no complaining ! . Car still has very good response at above 4k rpm but I found it kind of lacking in response below 3k rpm in normal model. Is it because it due to high mileage car ? The front and rear brake pads has about 30% left on the pads so I feel a little lose at the foot. Brake pad will need to replace very soon and the upcoming water pump/belts replacement at 100k mileage. Need to pull the trigger

Probably just felt lacking because you were in normal mode. It makes the throttle response way slower if that makes sense.

I doubt this. Maybe the avg for a 9 yo vehicle.....
My car is at 75k and the only issue was a leaking water pump @55k.

I agree for normal mode. In sport mode, car is so good and so responsive. The previous owner has kept the car in good condition. Price is on the high side compare to many other lower mileage cars on the market and the dealer ask $27k plus tax. Is it reasonable? I may go for this car and take it to Lexus dealer for service. I'm wondering at what mileage to replace the water pump, belts and trans oil? approx cost ? Should I buy extended warranty to 150k mileage...?

You can probably get a better price from a private seller if you look around your area. For as much love as these get on here, they don't seem to be flying off lot in the real world in my experience... I tried to list mine for 27k weeks ago and the literally the only response I've gotten is one guy laughing at me assuring me it should be 20k :\

You have an 08? If so, they are quite easy to find and not highly sought after like later model years. The 08 models had 3-4 times as many Fs in production than the later year, which will obviously drive prices down on the 08s unfortunately.
