Default FBO isf vs isf with exhaust

Went to the track tonight with one of my buddies who also has a SFP 08 and we got a chance to lineup a few times. I'm FBO with tuned intake and figs 2 piece rotors in the rear and he only has an exhaust with an intake elbow. I was consistently .6-.7 quicker with 4-5mph difference with both of us on stock wheels as well. DA was +600 and I'm looking forward to hitting the track again with a DA of -1000 or better. I recently purchased a set of drag radials that are 7lbs lighter each wheel so I'm hoping on the right night I'll be able to break the 11.87 record as well as my personal best of 11.92. I was shocked I was only trapping at 115ish tonight on a few of my early runs where I ran 12.2-12.3 I was mid 117mph, that part didn't make sense. I'm fairly confident that with the right weather in a couple weeks I can hit a low 11.8 and hopefully a high 11.7. Overall it was a fun night and reminded me how much fun this car can be. It's always nice to smoke a few mustangs as well. That part never gets old lol.

Was your 60 foot time worse on the 12.2-12.3 runs? More wheel spin will result in a higher trap speed but slower ET. Great job too!

Nice!

I was hoping for redemption this Friday but is the only day this week that it's supposed to rain

I'm fully stock but wanted to hit a high 12 before I started engine mods this winter. Even have my apexi intake kit just sitting in the box awaiting my next run. There's only one other day left of the season in two weeks before I miss the opportunity.

Like a stock dyno graph i want an optimal stock 1320 time as well. What was your buddies times with just the exhaust? I know you mentioned .7 higher but of which time?

Sweet, comparing my slip to your buddies times leads me to believe I can pull off a 12.8/9ish stock. Just need to dip below a 2.0xx 60' and remember manual mode this time haha :smh:

As much as a car nut that I am, I never raced on a dragstrip.

I was wondering, do you hit the gas when the light tree shows the last yellow light? I"ve heard that somewhere.

Reaction time means nothing, doesn't affect your ET, you can camp out at the light as long as you like. I don't worry about it. They run a pro tree around here, which is 3 light go, and they try and move quick so about the second you double stage they bang the lights so you would have to be John Force to be ready.
I go when I'm ready :P

Nice, so the addition of the headers and tune brings you down from around a 12.9 to the 12.1 range.

Gotcha, so what can make the difference between let's say a 13.3 sec 1/4 run and a 12.8 sec with fairly stock car (such as mine, which just has an HPS and an aFe filter)

That is pretty much all going to depend on your 60 foot time. So basically how quickly you get off the line. Also, if you nail your shifts rather than bouncing off the limiter.

Yup. One tenth off your 60' will net you roughly two tenths off your ET. So that's a 12 for me right there. Plus manual mode will allow you to control the shift points. I bet I lost a couple tenths cause of that F up alone doh.

Ok, so what are some suggestions to get a good 60' time?

Should the traction control be dis-engaged?

I figured sports mode ON and manual mode ON.

Drop tire pressure, hold brake pedal with left foot, rev to 1300ish rpms, maybe late stage, mash the gas on green haha.

Definitely turn off all the nannies.
