Yep... that sounds way too unrealistic for a V8 5.0L regardless of the 8speed, 580kms is what I got out of an IS250 lol...

Being very gentle on the throttle with 80% highway driving I could believe that.. 400ish is about a full tank on a road trip for me. Also noticed a massive increase in mpg with a new exhaust, that could be a factor also.

Those first three words "be very gentle..." is nearly impossible with an exhaust and intake lol

I have attached my fuel log for the past couple of months. Being easy on the throttle definitely helps. 8th gear hwy cruising does not hurt either. Suffice to say I have been more than pleased with the fuel economy so far. It will be interesting to see how a Canadian (Toronto) winter will affect it.

Got this on a 400+ mile road trip! This was after I lowered the car! Dramatic difference in gas mileage. I'm sure I went damn near 500 miles on the tank. This was ZERO wide open throttles/pulls, cruise control in the entire time (all highway miles...cruising around 70 mph), pretty level elevation the entire time, etc. VERY IMPRESSED with the gas mileage that can be gotten with this car!! But u will say this....it took TONS of restraint....Everytime a semi fast or modded car comes up beside you and I wanted to give it a piece of the F, I had to hold out and look like a scared lil biatch!!😬!! The most boring trip in the world in the F! Can't say I'll do that again.... definitely not what the F was meant for, lol!
I can still do 26-27 mph average with normal driving and occasional hard pulls and triple digit speeds. Very impressive machine.

I've gotten from los angeles to vegas in one tank and I still had some left. I usually average about 200 miles per tank in nasty LA traffic.

280 miles per full tank, mixed city/highway driving. Could go more but I don't want the empty gas light to turn on.

Filled up today and actually paid attention. So my cluster said I had 8 miles remaining (pegged on E), yet when I filled up I only put in 13.9 gallons into the car. The specs show the car holds 16.9 gal. Are some of you driving well past 'E'? If I drove off the remaining gallons I could of past 300, but who knows how close a gas station would have been when the time was up.

I routinely drive past the 'E', the fewer times I have to stop for gas, the better.

I have been hearing some chatter lately regarding the potential adverse effects on the fuel pump when the tank is run down to the bottom. Would appreciate if anyone with a technical background can shed some light on whether this is still relevant with current gen fuel pump designs.

Not true for Toyota vehicles. I have done this many times. This subject has come up repeatedly since the 2006 IS350 threads asking about it.

On my way back from SF.

With mostly highway driving, my miles remaining shows 330 miles after a fill-up. With mostly LA city street driving, I get about 15 mpg. i have a picture of my car doing 33 mpg somewhere. not sure where the picture went.
