Default exhaust manifold leak questions

as the title says i have an exhaust leak on the car, i just got a call from lexus and they told me they know there is an exhaust leak but in order for them to find it they need to drop the engine so i am looking at $2200 for that, now i have an extended warranty but he is telling me because i have an aftermarket exhaust they might not covered the cost of the repair. any suggestions are welcome. thanks

if your exhaust cause the leak then yes u will have to pay but if its from the engine not sure why they are blaming the exhaust. also what exhaust do you have and do you have headers as well?

the leak is in the engine so it is from the oem headers, it has nothing to do with the joe z exhaust

Is this the manifold crack that quite a few of us seem to have or did you have a more serious failure around the headers?

Sounds like it's the manifold crack that some are experiencing. If the JoeZ was installed correctly, that would in no way cause that leak. Don't let them bamboozle you.

2200 just to figure it out is nuts, I think i would just take my chances and go straight to PPE headers since its fairly well documented where leaks are common on this car.

Edit: just saw you have a warranty; man thats lucky.

How many miles on your car? seems to be happening a lot to those of us with higher mileage Fs. Mine made it to 102k before I got the crack.

i installed the exhaust with the help of other f owners, there is no way the joe z installation was the cause of it. as many have said they experience the leak at higher milage
