Anyone ever come across a G8?
What's up guys, so after telling my brother that I'm saving up to get me an F, he told me I should consider buying something else with more power or something different since I'm coming from an is350... Anyway after explaining to him exactly why I liked the ISF so much and why to me it's the perfect logical upgrade he agreed and said I should definitely get one. Especially after showing him how these engines sounds with a nice exhaust 
lol.
Anyway on anothee note, my brothers been on kind of a winning streak lately with his bolt on G8 GT. He's beat a few mustang GT's (non 5.0), some sort of motorcycle on our way home from LA, and most recently my neighbors 6.0 Gto (vararam intake only). So with all these wins especially the one against the Gto, he's really happy with car and how it performs. We also raced my IS350 various times and he consistently murders me from a stop and and especially a roll.
So with that being said, he said he feels confident he can take out my ISF once I get it. What do you guys think though? I don't only care about all out acceleration but he's been non stop bragging about his car being the fastest of us two since he got it a year ago (he came from an Altima) lol. Just wondering what your guys thoughts are on this and what the outcome would be or if any of you have ran one. As for mods he has Headers, cat back, and tune. It's the G8 GT with the L76 or L77 (I forget which) based off the LS2. Oh and it's an automatic 6 speed. Thanks.

Oh no don't worry, he knows his place. A close friend of ours has an 09 GTR with some mods and that thing is ridiculous lol. He let us drive it when he first got it and occasionally still does 
Anyway I'm not concerned with losing to him as it doesn't affect my desire for the F. I still want one because at the end of the day, it's a rare car and Lexus first attempt at a full on v8 sports car. In other words, its more special to me. I was just wondering how a stock F would hold up to a bolt on G8 GT is all.

I have raced a G8 on a few occasions and every time I pull on him, I don't know what mods he has or maybe it's stock because I haven't talked to him afterwards but maybe next time I will ask him.

The Pontiac G8 (built by Holden in Australia) was discontinued when GM killed off Pontiac. It remerged as the current Chevrolet SS (also built by Holden). Since GM is killing off Holden next year, the SS will also go the way go the G8. Two of my friends have G8s and both lust after my ISF. One is stock (the V8) not the GXP and the other a modified GT V8. I have not run against either.

The only advantage for the Pontiac is that there's a much greater selection of aftermarket parts available for the motor.
Your bro will have to mod his car more to keep up with an F with I/E/H & tune, but the parts do exist.
Though he'll still be driving an orphan.

I think some of you are confused. No where in my original post did I state I wanted a G8... So no to the recommendation of the Chevy SS (which by the way we test drove and it was nowhere near his G8 lol). Also a real car enthusiast I can appreciate almost any car on the market for what it is and the G8 GT is an exceptional vehicle. Only negative being the reliability of the engine so far for the most part, but its a nice car for sure. It even came with a limited slip differential believe it or not lol. In my opinion it's a great car is all I'm trying to say, no need for any of us to act like the BMW stereotype owners who bash everything that's not German lol.
But anyway please read my question again guys for those of you who didn't bother to read it all. I DON'T want a G8, I want an ISF
