Default extended warranty coming to a end

I have a 08 with 24k miles, i am the original owner. My extended warranty ends in December. Thoughts on owning the F with no warranty, i'm a little nervous about it but have not had any major issues yet, (knock on wood).

Don't be nervous , go out and drive the F . With only 24k miles just keep up with basic maintenance and recalls

That frink thing is still brand new. Only thing Id be worried about on an 08 is the water pump leak and valley plate leak. If you have had them taken care of you should be absolutely fine. If not it will cost a couple of grand but still worth it when the car is in such great shape

My 2 year extended warranty will be expiring soon and TBH it was a waste of money as I've had nothing go wrong (knocks on wood). Just get the recalls done and you should be straight.

Lets get this straight...

You bought the car new and owned it for 8 yrs. You've put three thousand miles a year on it with no major issues.

And you're a little nervous?

Eh. I'm a worrier. P/Ns for the short block, rotating assembly, and assembled engine vary from $10K-20K. Cheap insurance in case something goes wrong.

Doubt you'll have any issues but you should save for a rainy day if that day ever comes. That's my stance when it comes to extended warranties.

Mine is an '08 at 65k miles with no warranty. I'm the second owner and had the car for 7+ years with no issues.

You shouldn't worry one bit, especially being at 24k miles.

I bought an extended warranty for 3 years 36k miles for around 2k$

I bought it when I was OUT of warranty through Carchex

I bought three warranties through that company for three different Lexus cars

It's already paid for itself on the LS, it's picked up the tab for some small things on the IS-F, and so far it's just given me peace of mind on the LX

I'm nervous that he hasn't gotten no where near the full use of his car yet lol. It's such a blast to drive especially when 90% of people aren't sure what it is.

I have an 08 with 48k and an extended warranty. Just had the water pump, tensioner, and a/c flapper go bad. 2k in parts and labor total. A/c flapper was a old problem Lexus looked back into and found. Other than that zero issues.

I'm assuming your extended warranty covered those expenses??

Yes it did. It's covered for 2 more years or 70,000 miles
