Default Chest Pain from Seats

Does anyone else find themselves having chest pain (muscles) from the seats? Anyone swapped out their driver seats?

I did! He said it's not from the heart, lung, or anything like that. It's a muscle cramp.

I got a second opinion from another doctor, she confirmed it as a muscle problem.

I spoke to a physical trainer and he confirmed the same thing.

Now I'm wondering if it's because the seats are too tight in the IS-F.

cant be the seat, maybe u need some yoga and lot of stretching and some foam roller behind your chest . Sauna will help to ease the muscles too.

If you are a larger dude with a wide chest/shoulders yes the seats causing your shoulders to roll in could cause issues. Probably more of a symptom of having overly tight chest muscles from the get go. I do not find the seats particularly comfortable as they are built for someone my wife's size, but I cram myself in the car because I love to drive it. Just not my preferred ride for a long drive. +1 on doing some stretching.

I've had multiple spinal surgeries from an injury. The seats in my F are very comfortable and provide great support. They are far better than the seats in my Bimmer.

Agree, they are good seats, but how large of a person are you. I think for anyone under 6' and under 190lbs they are great seats. But if you are on the big side, muscle or otherwise they are not so great. I find they pinch me at the shoulders, butt and back/lower sides fit fine. But I am 6'3" and 248lbs at 14% BF. Not hating on the seats, but just a bit snug for my taste. I am certain the car is at least a couple tenths faster without my heavy *** in it.

I hear ya. I can see how the seat bolsters could be tight for a larger frame person. I'm 5' 6-1/2" 185 lbs. A little heavy for my size, but like I said the seat fits me well. Have you thought about an upgrade? Perhaps Recaro, Sparco, etc...

I drove my ISF about 1200 miles to turn it in on a GTR way back when a few years ago. I remember having horrible back pain due to extended driving in the ISF (and i was a fairly spry in shape 26 year old at the time). On the return trip home in the GTR I had no pain whatsoever the following day.

Not saying it's directly related but it was the first time I "got it" about some seats not being supportive enough as it was a direct back to back comparison to another manufactures seats.

I still think the ISF has pretty good seats for normal driving under 2 hours or so but beyond that I find them to lack lower back support for taller peeps (i'm 6'2").

These are probably one of the more comfortable performance seats I've sat in and I think many reviews reflect that. I will have to agree that they are a snug fit even for a slimmer body. Then again the 2is platform I find is a pretty snug fit in general; not much headroom and I'm only 5'8.

Probably time to stop bench pressing and start working on those back muscles.
