Tints on windshield
Hey guys and gals.. I did a search and couldn't find anything relating to it, but.. I recently bought a 2010 ISF.. Are there any issues with putting tints across the top of the windshield? I know there's a few sensors up there on top of it, so would the tint strip impede the use of these sensors? If you have the tiny strip across your windshield can you give me any feedback? I plan to go DARK with it.. Thanks a lot..!

Lol.. It's not gonna be ugly or anything.. It's just that I'm used to having a little strip across the top to help block the sun.. The car came with really light tints, and I plan to change them.. But the previous owner never had any tint on the windshield.. Here in south Fl it's gets bright and retardedly hot..

Yeah I figured that.. Lol.. I was thinking that maybe they didn't tint the windshield because of all the sensors and stuff.. But thanks for the input..

The rain sensor is on the very top on the passenger side of the mirror, you can see it. It is covered by a plastic cover on the inside so you can't really tint over it

I just got 30% tint on the sides, 30% rear, and 80% tint on the windshield (all with heat rejection). No issues so far, but you can't tell the windshield is even tinted.
Big difference here in Texas. A/C is working much much less, and getting back into the car while sitting in the sun feels like it's been in covered parking all day. Very happy with it.

I had my windshield tinted at 60%. Rain sensors still work great. I am still impressed with the heat rejection, even when the car has been baking outside under the sun for hours. I didn't opt for the strip, as I was never a fan of that look. Cops don't give me a double look about it. It's less obvious but certainly doing the job it needs.

I just had Solar gard front windshield tint applied to the wife's RX350. Iam in Texas, and It made a huge difference.
The Solar gard has 0% tint - but cuts the UV rays, and heat. I finding I don't even wear my sun glasses now, and it does amazing cutting down on the heat.

My windshield is 50% but peeling so I'm going to redo it when I replace the window. Any darker it would be really hard to see at night. From the outside it looks super dark with all the other windows tinted, but you can still see out fine. Also, during the day opening the windows / roof helps kinda if you see a cop. Still obvious but only if you look for it, darker is just asking for trouble.
I'd stick with 50, just my 2 cents. They're stricter about tint in CA than other sunny states where EVERYONE does it so no one cares.
