I honestly don't mind losing to a 335. If M3/M4s can lose to them, there is no shame. I've come across a few JB4 tuned 335s, and they're not the arrogant anti-Lexus type. We are all having a good time, no egos to check at all. We learn from one another, share some insights, and then reconnect later for kicks. It's all good. Those who need to have their egos stroked are the ones that don't really enjoy their car to begin with. There will always be a faster car, either from the factory or by buying the right components to make any car faster than the last. Enjoy what you drive and forget about numbers.

I'm going to bring my ISF out for the summer this week. I am looking forward to having a friend drive my FBO E61 N54 wagon to see how the two cars compare. I have been building the wagon as my ultimate daily driver for the last year and the thing rips, especially for a big wagon. Should be interesting.......

Love that wagon! My buddy has a tuned n54 that has 95,000 on it but it's always in my garage getting worked on.

Thanks and yep same here, 'm always installing my next mod while I have it on the lift to replace some failing part. I've fixed more things on this one car between 85k and 110k then I have on every ISF that comes to my shop combined. It's a love-hate relationship but l can't think of another vehicle that I would trade it for as my daily.

Ran some kid in a 335i on I-680 once, 70 MPH roll.........he kept up for about 2-3 seconds.........then he was history.

At least he didn't come back with a ricer fly by afterwards.

/the end.

Tuned 335i's are no joke they are sleepers imo because everyone only pays attention to M badged cars. Was out with some friends a few months ago there was one making close to 5XXhp at wheels power came on very smooth and quick and surprised a lot of folks including one of my Supra buddies, 335 didn't beat him but he was surprised that he didn't beat him by more.

Turbo bimmers are just no fair. There's almost minimal point to buying a M5 with the TTV8 in the 550. Simple bolt ons and those land yachts are moving.

I debated a F32 435i for some time, but couldn't get over the fact I needed the sound of a V8 in my life. Still like the looks of em, but glad I stuck to my original choice.

I had n54 fbo 335i before the F. I think it maybe be a bit quicker than fbo F and a **** ton more torque but the reliability of the n54 is dog **** compared to the F

im currently driving a '08 335 and looking to move back to Lexus. I had a IS250 before the 335 and loved never ever having a problem with it over 4 years. the 335 is much much much more expensive to maintain and live with and its the reason im selling it for a '11+ ISF. Just can not be bothered to deal with all the problems I've had over 2.5 years of owning the 335. I want something I dont have to worry about.

but yeah, my 335's putting about 400whp (full bolt on, meth, and 20% E85 mix with a jb4 piggyback and backend e85 flash). its fast, but doesn't matter how fast it is when its in the shop half the time, and if its not there its barely ever really run 100% with everything in the car working haha. i don't think i'll ever be jealous if a 335 raced me after i got the F. yeah he might win but he'll probably get a half engine light and blow his hpfp half way down the road hahaha. if i had more money to spend i would love to get back to BMW, but as a student working part time, i need something more reliable but also fun.

Yeah I wouldn't touch an 08/09 335 with a 10' pole. I have a few buddies with them and WARNED them not to get an early model year but they didn't listen. I would rock a 335is with the DCT gearbox in a heartbeat though. Plus I am a big fan of the F30 even though the chassis isn't considered to be as good as the E90. Interior is way better though.

bnizzle, this is so true. I think we sometimes don't realize how holistically awesome a car is to us till it is older and we look back at all the little gems it offered that aren't available anymore. A good example is the E30 M3, compared to the standards today it is slow both in a straight line and on track compared to modern cars that weight 500-1000lbs more. But many love the car and respect it because it is so different from what you get today. It's a no frills, lightweight 4 cylinder sports car that does it's job. The F or even the E90 M3/C55 might not be the fastest anymore, but one day we will look back and lust after cool sports sedans with nice sounding proper NA V8s,RWD and somewhat minimal nannies, while we blast away in our 600hp super duper turbo charged 4cylinders and 6 cylinders that drive like a robot and sound like a tincan having sex with a fart. They will be faster but they will never be the same.

disclaimer- I have nothing wrong with turbo 6 cylinders, love the GTR, 911 ect. just making a point

^^^^^^ I love these statements. There is such a misconception about car owners of differant camps. I have owned and worked on many differant cars and it isn't often that people come to my shop and aren't excited about all of the differant cars here.
And it is so true about the nostalge factor. The ISF isn't the most powerful car out there but it is special and perfect in many ways, that won't change. If I have an FBO GTR parked next to the Supra or ISF it doesn't change anyone's excitment for the 23 year old Supra or the F. People even love my BMW station wagon and that is fun.
If anything I notice that the muscle car guy don't know or care much about the Japanses cars and vice verse.....until you teach them. I can have one of our GTXs parked next to the newer cars and people will be pulled to one or the other without ever looking at the opposite car.
