pardon my ignorance but the rr intake/tune requires you to have their tuned ecu setup? or is it just a flash to your stock?

I also believe that you need headers to show the gains. don't quote me though.

^^Correct Headers & Exhaust to make it work properly along with the tune then you get the full benefits, it's basically the last link in the FBO options for the F before you go to forced induction.

What do you guys think is better in terms or power and also lower intake temps

Obviously, the cheaper option is the DEI gold tape.. I think it helps.. After applying it to my RR Racing intake tube, I put my hand inside & blew the heat gun at it.. It definitely blocks some heat!

I only chose HPS because the Joe Z was getting harder to find. I know a lot of folks get caught up in "heat soak" but its an intake pipe. The air is moving so fast its not in the pipe but for the blink of an eye and its gone.

I think its made to be a bigger issue than it really is. Just my own .02, you cant go wrong with either.. I got my hps pipe and afe dry filter off amazon

So true. The intake manifold is a big chunk of steel that gets heated up from sitting on top of the engine. So it really doesn't matter if the intake pipe is heat resistant or not because all the air will eventually get heated up anyway. I do think however that at the entry point from the air box, cooler denser air does matter, but doesn't really matter once it's pass the MAF.
