Default Track guys, how many bars oil temp is normal?

I went for a winding road drive lastnight, the outside temp is 77*F,my drive was a bit conservative,WOT only a few times...i was surprised to see 4 bars oil temp...when i reached my destination, parked a few mins. And the temp went back down to 3 bars...
I was wondering for the guys tracking their F,what is their oil temp? 5 bars?

"normal" obviously is 3 bars. During spirited driving I've gotten up to 4 or 5. Even just driving normally in low gear in manual I've seen the temps go up to about 4 bars. Short shifting and driving in the higher gears brings down the temps pretty quickly.

RR Racing sells oil cooler because IS F do run a little hot when pushed. See http://www.rr-racing.com/RR-Racing-O...isfock0001.htm

Haha I have had mine past the 7 bars with the oil temp warning light flashing twice . I can get it to 4 if driving hard even for a little bit in the AZ heat . TOTALLY NORMAL . The high oil temps is why I stopped racking in the summer ..... And the redonkulous tire wear in the AZ heat on the tack

I'll bet you could pull 4 bars backing out of the driveway...

Never seen more than 3, but we only have 7 - 8 days/yr. when temps exceed 90 degrees f.

Though we do have traffic. I waited 2 hrs. for a ferry recently, the car idling for extended periods with the aircon on. No 4th bar or coolant leaks (knock on wood). I carry the pink stuff with, just in case.

I just did a track day on Friday with temps near 90 and high humidity.. My oil temp never got higher than 1 bar past dead center (I have a 2012). Based on some other recent observations, I attribute this in part to Redline oil, which I've decided to try out for my last oil change.. This stuff rocks! Shortly after the oil change, oil temp wasn't even halfway at the end of a hot afternoon commute. I don't think I've ever seen it lower than dead center after driving the car for 30 miles..I took the photo below right after I arrived home with car still running.

Another positive side-effect I've noticed is my A/O separator isn't doing much of anything these days. The photo below is after two afternoon track sessions from last Friday.. There was maybe twice that after the two morning sessions, but that's because I hadn't emptied the catch can in weeks!

For reference, the catch can was 3/4 full after two afternoon track day sessions in April on the same circuit. At the time, I was still running Mobile 1 oil. I was at Pocono in May a week after switching to Redline & didn't catch much more than the photo all day.. It was a very cool day, so I didn't think much about it at the time, but Friday's track day results have sold me on Redline oil

-Mike
