opinion from ISF owners on cost

Truthfully, I would go for the 350 with the newer technology...if that is what you're after. It is plenty fast for daily driving and still gives some good thrills when you need power. Maintenance will be similar in terms of parts compared to the IS F. Insurance is dependent on where you live and what coverage you're looking for. For example, when we priced insurance quotes comparing my 08 IS F to my sister's potential 15 350 F Sport, all things being equal, my rates were just slightly less than hers.
If you want a full fledged powerhouse vehicle, get the F. It's older, yes, but you can't make up the power gains off a 350 without dumping a lot of money into parts. But it does come with older technology. There is no cool tach, technology especially with audio and pairing to phones is much more difficult, and there will be a need for greater budgeting for performance parts. But if you can see past all that, the F is the way to go. Some people want the current tech, others want the power. It just depends on you.
Best of luck!

If you test drive the F then you'll buy the F! It's engine/exhaust note (even stock) is intoxicating. I agree with Vit that the tech on the earlier models lacks a bit, but that doesn't bother me. As far as aesthetics go, in my opinion, the body enhancements that the F was given make a far more aggressive statement than a 3rd gen FSport.
I've owned my 08 for just over 4 years and the only expenses have been brake pads, tires, oil changes and gas.
Good luck!
