My IS F was a superstar!
So, I was browsing my IS F's maintenance history on the "Lexus Drivers" portal. When I got to the beginning of the history of my car, I discovered that it was a car featured at the Detroit Auto Show. Further examination revealed that this is also known as the "North American International Auto Show" which is one of the largest car shows in North America.
A brief search for photos for this event located one of the LFA, which my mercury metallic IS "F" car seems to be sitting next to. So I made this slide because I thought it was cool that my car is unique in this way. Does anyone else own a "show car?" I would be interested in better pictures of my ISF at the 2010 Detroit show if there are any good internet searchers on the forum. I couldn't find any others. Yes, I know it is kinda stupid to get excited over this, but it feels kinda like knowing Burt Reynolds drove your Trans-Am.
Please post if anyone can find a better picture of the IS F than this!!

Yeah, I assumed that from all of the items replaced on the car after the show with only 29 miles on it. That adds an even cooler element to it, someone famous could have sat in it. It was a show car and a CPO car, so I know it has gotten the "fine toothed comb" treatment.

The good part should be, that it must be a higher quality standard then regular ones.
I know a few people at BMW engineering and they say, that every Show or Press car gets more attention because it has to be perfect. They put in some extra work to prevent rattles or weird noises that could affect the car review.

Nice find....
Not entirely true...
Most of the AUTO Show Lexus cars are pulled from Lexus dealership en-route allocations.
After the show, the cars go through a special vehicle prep process for reconditioning.
After that, they are sold as new
In the USA - Press pool / review vehicles for Lexus, usually come out of one of their 4 regional offices

I just thought it was cool. I knew my car was a CPO car and it passed a recent inspection at the Lexus dealership just before I bought it, but today is the first time that I had looked all through the service history back to day one. I know this thread won't get a lot of attention, but I would love to hear of any "weird" or interesting stuff in other people's service histories. Please post if anyone has anything!

I found ,while looking at my lexus history, that mine was also in an auto show. I think it's interesting, didn't even notice it until I went back to look after I saw this thread.

I wonder which show yours was in, did it say? I think that several other people may have some surprises in their Lexus histories if they check.

I just created an account and logged on to check the service history of my car and i was amazed that the previous owner took the car to the dealership for EVERYTHING! he/she even took the car in to have the windshield wipers replaced! LOL!

Yeah, I imagine that many of the original owners of $60k+ cars might not have been inclined to do a whole lot of maintenance themselves. The previous owner of mine babied it. Thank you previous owner...
