Default Wife curb stomped the front rim....

Curious if anybody else's significant other scratched up your rims? Also is the spare the matching rim on a 08?

The spare tire is an ugly skinny yellow rim with a skinny tire. It will look like a lion missing one of his paws.... you can always have it professionally repaired. Should be around $150 per wheel on the high end.

thats why mine doesnt get to drive my car

the spare isn't a full size, it's a donut.

as said above, you should be able to get it repaired for a small cost.

Thanks guys. I'm surprised it's not a full spare. Even my old GS430 had the matching rim. Oh well I will get it fixed. It's hideous in two places. Ya I know she's usually a great driver. I think she did it on purpose because I messed up her rear bumper.

my wife doesn't drive my car.

after several instances of seeing various scratches and rub marks on the lower part of her car and asking what happened and getting the "no idea" response.

or even better having the detailer detail her car from top to bottom then an hour later seeing the tire dressing on the front passenger wheel completely rubbed off and asking "did you hit a curb" and getting a I don't remember, or I don't think so" response, I put away my spare key fob and keep the fob I use out of sight..

Mine drove my car last Sunday. Not a thing happened to it, mainly cuz she knows I'd flip if she hurt the precious. And she wouldn't want to pay the price, literally.

As has been said, the spare is a doughnut. But, on an '08 all four wheels are unique and corner specific.

Please expand on " on 08 all four wheels are unique and corner specific"? If so how can you identify?

what he means is the wheels are a staggered fit (front is smaller width that rear) and the tires are directional.

you can't rotate front to back or left to right.

Within each 08-09 wheel will have a stamping of FR, FL, RR, and RL (front right, left,:rear right, left). Aside from that, one simply cannot rotate tires because they are staggered wheels. Some have swapped left and right tires for prolonged tire wear.

Spare, sadly, is a very underwhelming eyesore. I, too, thought the spare would be a full, but as I think about it now, it would weigh down the rear even more.

No, that's not what I mean. The Samurai spokes on an '08 wheel are cut in a specific way for a specific look. True the front to back widths are different, but so are the spokes. See attached.

Yep, already had the rim repaired once. New curbage since then, but it is her car so she has to deal with it. I just try not to ever look directly at it or my blood pressure gets to unsafe levels.
