^I like the look of alcantara, but like you said. For an area such as an arm rest that will probably be touched a lot i think its a lot easier to clean leather than suede.

Alcantara is not suede. It's polyester and polyurethane and very durable. You can clean it with soap and water if it gets dirty. I used to have an Audi S4 biturbo with blue alcantara inserts in the seats. I cleaned the seats a few times at the local coin-op carwash using their carpet cleaning brush and foamy soap. It looked brand spankin' new each time!
Just bought sonax alcantara cleaner and its perfect Console should be deliver tomorrow .

This is something I've been wanting to do. I'm not buying all new door panels so I will probably take Alcantara to a fabric shop with a the door panels to measure and install.
Are there any back of the door panel pictures around? I haven't looked around how to take doors or armrest off, but don't want to take the panels off just to look. They get marred up too easily.
