Default Lamin-X fitment, Awful!

Here's my install on headlight films from Lamin-X. I wanted to get the "blackhousing" look with their light smoke tint. The fitment is so poor it's a joke. I didn't trim anything, it just comes like that.

Just so you guys know....

Incredible how it can be off like that. These lights are on the market since 2006...
I can't imagine 10 years later they still haven't figured it out.

My headlights have a 3M clear bra film. They were cut by my local installer. They did a wonderful job

I was quoted 250$ to have it done here by an installer which I thought was way overprice.
I spent 55$ on Lamin-X and I'm quite inclined for the job. The job is indeed super clean but the cut is nowhere near acceptable.

I purchased the same precut film from Lamin-x for my F. I agree the fit seems way to small. I wonder if warming it up and giving it a light stretch would make the difference. I ended up having a local Lamin-x installer do it using a larger sheet then cut it down to size. If you want to do it yourself, I know Lamin-x sells sheets of the tint. QcISF used the sheets so pm him if you need more info.
Good luck

I tried warming it and it helped me but it was too much off to be able to heat it and stretch it enough.

I had my front bumper done with the 3M Pro Series Film. Cost was $495.00. The installer threw in the headlights and fogs as part of the deal. I extremely happy with the work.

On their own instructions there is a giant sign written DO NOT STRETCH THE FILM so I did stretch it a bit but didn't want to go all the way and break it....

It's almost impossible to stretch it and then cover it with water hoping it'll stay stretched.... That's just the opposite.

From my experiences over the years, the pre-cut film from Lamin-X always has a issue fitting properly. I've always just gone with the cut to fit method from a roll

They have 2 different sets for the IS
2006-2010
2001-20013

I have the 1st set on my 90 IS-F and the fit is very good.
