RR Tune with oem gutted header 12.3@114mph
Hey everyone, I'm new on here and i just have a question regarding this tune from RR Racing i purchased.
Before the tune, I ran a 12.6@112mph with k&n intake and borla exhaust on oem wheels and street tires.
After the RR Racing tune and gutted oem header and a square setup of 18x8 motegi track light wheels that weight 18lbs each. 265/35r18 tire. i ran a 12.3@114mph. 1.8 60ft
All runs were made at night in 50 degree weather and i let car cool for 20 mins with the hood open before each run. The car was parked right at the starting line. I would start the car and make a pass immediately after the intake felt cold to the touch.
Is a 12.3@114mph respectable after a tune on oem gutted headers?

I would try to compare apples to apples and put your OEM wheels back on for a pass. Your first run was with I/E on stock wheels. Your second run you added a tune but then changed your wheels to more of a track setup. It's hard to tell how much the tune helped because we don't know if it was the tune or the wheel change that yielded the better time. Great 60 foot number by the way!

I sold oem wheels with bald tires
I had intentions to drag the car before the tune but with the lighter wheels and gutted header but i had friendly competition with a modded scat pack charger and e85 evo 10. So i got the tune and banged them both lol twice each lol. F Nation

You can use drag times.com DA calculator to get the exact DA for the track you were on. Assuming your DA is around 0 that time is pretty respectable with your mods. Do you bounce each gear off the rev limiter when you shift? That technique has yielded me my best results as well as others who have run 11.9 @119+.

When it did bounce off the rev limiter, i had a slower time. My car has 85k miles and i pulled out 1 spark plug and it did look over due for a change. Would getting a colder plug help? I just feel the car should have went quicker with the tune...??
