Hm, my IS-F lived its life in Zone C before I bought it and brought it Zone B.

I believe they assign/contact you through registration, so the car being registered to you now works. Also, I bet if you are registered on the lexus website, you would get notification based on where you live now.

got my letter yesterday. Wonder how long it'll be until they have the replacement ready. I already saw through Lexus Drivers that the "remedy not yet available"

^^^^The recall is preliminary - There are no parts at the dealers yet. I wouldn't hold my breath

Got my notice today. Curious how long this will take. Think the wife will be too thrilled about ridding in the passenger seat on the way to and from Daytona this weekend.

I hate taking my car to the dealer for anything... wish we could just remove the damn airbags.

I despise airbags. More injuries and deaths from them than passengers/drivers saved by a long shot. I wonder what would happen if I just removed the SRS ECU? No more EDR to provide "evidence" on the government's behalf, and no more worries about getting punched by Mike Tyson should the thing ever deploy. They say it is genuinely unsafe to drive my vehicle with a passenger now. This should really be a class action suit against the NHTSA for requiring explosive devices inside automobiles.

When I replaced my steering wheel, I seriously thought about not hooking up the air bag, but I chickened out thinking I might trigger a CEL. But Yes, I too, would like to disable both main airbags. I always wear my seat belt as does anybody who rides with me. No darn reason for the airbag IMO. And as Lance pointed out, much much more trouble than they're worth

Lance I think you are the first I have heard to say that about air bags. Interesting. I guess they just think the bag is the lesser of the evils . I had patients with orbital socket blow outs and fractures from hitting the windshield though. They also get these mean traumatic cataracts

As far as I know the recall only impacts the passenger side, so if you are driving solo it shouldn't be an issue.

I agree with Lance on this. Several years ago had a head-on collision. The airbags went off, and I ended up with several fractures in my sternum. This caused swelling around my heart and a build up of fluid in my lungs and I spent 2 days in the cardiac ICU. Based on that experience I give a for airbags.
