Default Only a Month in....Jonesin' to Mod

Took the plunge on a 40,000 2010 MM a month from the 8th and have not regretted it since. I am definitely a lucky one being only 23. Needless to say it did not take long for me to be looking for my first modification (besides the carbon fiber insert for the rear emblem).

Thank you to all the posters for the immense info/mods there are for our cars and can not wait to get started on truly making this dream machine my own.

Have not seen any ISF's rolling around the midlands or low country, feel free to PM for a meet up if there are.

Welcome to the board & congratulations on your new ride.

It's a great choice of year & color. The 2010 has a Torsen limited slip diff. which was not offered on earlier cars.

Welcome and Congrats! I did the RR Racing USRS and AOS first, were easy to install and the USRS was a huge improvement.

Doing research on what that/those will be. Honestly aiming for appearance enhancements now, jury still out on the rear diffuser, like the side and front one's though. Replace drl's are on the immediate horizon but installing the dash cam and getting my hands on a passport escort radar detector may be the most pressing ha

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone, enjoyed these last few weeks in scanning the community/mods, this car is a unicorn here in the southeast. Glad I was able to get my hands on one for a reasonable price and get exactly what I wanted.

It's always nice to have a car that isn't easily seen on the roads. You're definitely going to enjoy your mods. I, too, am looking for dash cam and radar detector, but I pretty much did everything else first. Go figure.

There are plenty of threads on specific items you might run across, so while many will say to use the search function, we as a community are always present to help one another out. Welcome to the family!

Might want to add the Anti-Laser Priority to that shopping list, the State Patrol loves sitting under overpasses and sniping away.

I know a great installer in Garner, NC if you need this stuff installed. (The radar detector install is much easier)

Congrats on the car! I can't imagine the trouble I would have gotten into if I had this car at 23, stay safe and happy modding!

North Carolina troopers are a pain too, thankfully my SC insurance does not take into account out of state points (actually got a ticket 2 months ago, those damn mountains are too much fun) - scary thought if they did. I appreciate the reference and once I pull the trigger on something I may be shooting you a message for exact details.

Scrolled through some of your build thread, that spoiler looks perfect in Obsidian and your wheels flow ideal with the rest of the set up.

Really loved the narrative of your whole experience as well. Similar situation happened with me and my hunt, fortunately the tools who shoo'd me away led me right into my now baby's arms/leather sears and it was a much better option all around.

Lol so tough of me to be "responsible" and not go straight after more pleasing mods but I have to look out for the long term and taking into account this is my daily, I need all the protection I can get!

I appreciate the offer of help really seems this is a tight knit community of enthusiasts all looking to help one another along the way. Doing a ton of research over the next few weeks and hopefully have something ordered by Memorial Day week. Goal on this life is to be patient - my last car, an Acura TSX was a solid vehicle to learn on, and waiting for the right part, installer, etc. are my biggest takeaways.

Every person I have shown this car to has said it looks like trouble ha all I say back is she is all mine. Going to performance driving school after this month and am doing all I can to not get caught up in other mods before the protection is installed - easier said than done.

Thank you for the well wishes everyone!

Spent a couple hours last night running through your build thread and others...can already feel the money leave my bank account ha very impressive ride to say the least my friend.

I am thinking KW coilovers with Tom's kit all around and eventually upgrading the wheels for Volk TE 37's most likely being that last big mod for the year.

One thing I do worry about is scraping, unfortunately roads around here with the fact I do sometimes have passengers do not bode well for lowered cars. Maybe a small drop and adjusting as need be.

Default Update

Mod List to Date:

20 % Ceramic Tint All Around
Escort 9500ci Radar Detector & Laser Shifters (display installed in rear-view mirror)
Mini0806 Dash Cam
Stock Wheels Finished Hyper Silver
Michellin Pilot Super Sports - 245/275
PPE Headers
PPE Dual Mode Exhaust
HPS Intake Elbow
HPS Radiator Hoses

Overall very happy with the results, process from custom install of Radar/Laser and Exhaust/Headers was nothing short of difficult but well worth the headaches as the finishes are all superb. Thank you to all you members for posting info on your mods allowing me to find exactly what I wanted in this project. Very grateful to you all who have blazed the modding trial before me with this wonderful machine!

Huge shoutout to Josh at Meraki Autoworks, Paul at PPE, Forum Member Florider, for answering questions and keeping my anxiety at a manageable level.

In addition, to those in the South Carolina area, both Show Zone in Ladson and AV Tuning & Development in North Charleston need to be recognized for their help with installations. Both companies do phenomenal work and pay very close attention to detail producing awesome results.

Have the RR Racing tune in hand, will be installing before Christmas for more gains!

Aiming Summer of '17 for SC!
