Just picked up a used Arqray exhaust from a member on here. It was in rough shape and needed a lot of reconditioning. After many hours of sanding and polishing I'm more then pleased. It sounds incredible. All stock up front. Just an axle-back.
Man you cleaned and made it look new again. I met the original owner of that exhaust and it was in need of lots of TLC. Traveled aways now to Washington i see congrats and sounds mean .
Jesus, you did an amazing job. What the hell did you use?!?! It looks brand new!
Lol where to start. The Y-pipe had a lot of hardened cooked in road tar as you can see in the first pic. I used brake cleaner and a chisel to grind it off. After that I started with solvent and a scotch-bright pad on all the tubing. The next step was 800 grit wet sanding(water) to then 1000,1200,1500,2000. Finally several applications of metal polish by hand. The mufflers and tips I was able to start with 1500 and then 2000 as they weren't as tarnished and discolored. It took about 4 hours to do the entire system but in the end it was time well spent.
