Default Inspecting a used - what do I look for?

What do you guys look for when buying used car? What are the critical things to inspect? Can someone provide a checklist? Thanks.

You need to get a certified ASE master mechanic to look at the vehicle. Not getting a PPI done by a master mechanic could costs you thousands.

If possible, I would take the car to your local Lexus dealer and pay for a full inspection of the car and base your decision from the results.

Things I would look for as a consumer:

-tire tread
-rotor and pad thickness
-bad seals around doors, trunk, and hood
-maintenance schedule and service history
-condensation in headlights/taillights
-navigation screen (blurriness/non functioning screen)
-cracks in windshield
-body panels that are discolored/potentially repainted
-smells from A/C and running the car at idle

It would help to have a mechanic look at it. If everything checks out, I would bring up the potential cost of an extended warranty. It's peace of mind for some and a waste of money for others, but with a car that is not being produced anymore, it cannot hurt to get a quote.

Best of luck on the car search!
