Default Help with fitting aftermarket seats

Hey Guys,

So hoping my new seats will be arriving this Thursday.

Would like to try and get them installed over the weekend, or in the evenings next week.

Wanted to ask if anyone has a photo of the wiring I'm going to encounter when I remove my OEM seats? I don't need the electrics for the memory, motors, but I do need to know which wire is for the airbags? Got two Recaro resistor kits with a number of different connections, these should trick the side airbags, and avoid any dash lights coming on.

I'll be disconnecting the battery, and holding down the brake pedal for 90 seconds like I do when I'm removing my steering wheel.

Guessing I bolt the frame to the car, then the seats via the sliders?

Any tips or advice would be appreciated guys.

I'll be sure to post some photos once it's all done.

I don't know what version of car you have however with my car it was pretty complicated since I have the pre collision system / radar guided cruise.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say you don't have that so no real concern. As far as the wiring, you will only need to worry about the yellow plug with 2 wires and the black connector. Any connector in your car that is yellow is an air bag FYI. You should be able to just plug your resister kit into that plug and be done.

as far as the black connector, if I recall the sensor it plugs into on the seat is on the rail and it will be held in by a torx bolt. Take this sensor off, attach it to a another metal piece on the new seat and it should hold itself as it is magnetic. I would recommend zip tying it into place. I forget what this does but it is required. this is the seat position sensor which is required to be moved or you will have a SRS light on the dash.

As far as the passenger side, I think its just the 2 plugs, one yellow and one white. Its been awhile since I did this so I'm going purely off memory.

You will probably also want to transfer your seat belt connector to the new seat. I really hope you are not doing a harness of any kind because its not suggested. Ill see if I can dig up any more information for you.

Under the driver side seat you will have 4 total plugs, one yellow, one gray, one fat white one and one black.

*edit*

this thread will give you some photos, its for a IS350 but matches

Awesome!

Thanks so much.

Only trouble being mine is also an 08 IS-F, and pretty sure I have pre-collision and radar cruise control like you?

Not using harnesses. Will be transferring the seatbelts over as you said.

How much more work am I looking at with my car being the same as yours chap?!

Cheers for the advice so far though. Just what I needed to hear.
