I'd go talk to the manager for unauthorized extended test driving.

Haha knowing them, they would probably fill it with 5 quarts of oil and a tank of 87.

Lots of nice lightpoles to oversteer into at the beginning there. Then he does a ****ty powerslide and bounces off the limiter in both 1st and 2nd...

Worked at a Hyundai dealer for a few years, one lot attendant took a customer's brand new Genesis Coupe for a joyride. Went through a 4 way stop with some elevation , got air, bounced on landing, flipped the car through a chainlink fence, took out 2 parking meters and another car while flipping. Car totaled with less than 1k on the meter

I actually have a friend who is a service writer there, unfortunately he wasn't working the day I dropped my car off.

Coming from someone that's worked at a lexus/toyota/scion dealership, and having a few friends that work in dealerships/body shops. Employees do this a lot! Especially the younger ones that only do oil changes (lube techs). I can recall one instance when I took my F for a simple oil change and heard a very loud familiar sounding car driving away hard while I was outside the facility smoking a cigarette. I get my car back and it has over 5 miles of diffrence when I brought it in.

That's not cool at all! You should call them and speak with the manager, like many have suggested, hopefully score a few free oil changes

Yeah I normally take my car to Lexus of Thousand Oaks but since my friend who is a service writer there moved to Lexus of Oxnard, this was the first time I took it here. He usually keeps an eye out on my car when I bring it in...too bad he wasn't working that day.

If you were one of my customers and brought me this Video said Tech would not be working with us anymore. i wouldn't care if he was a Master Tech or not. I do not put up with that crap in my Service dept.

Dude, you have a much cooler head than I would in the same situation.

I would at least show the vid to your Service Advisor bud.

Personally, i don't even drive rentals or service loaners this way. Of course, the loaner cars are always hybrids.

Yeah, this definitely needs to be reported to the dealer, and if they don't give a ****, post it on social media. It doesn't matter if you're even keeled about it, the tech is in the wrong.

I wouldn't be upset at all. I'd just approach the guy and tel him he's lucky it was your car and not someone else's. Cause he'd have no job. I don't think every little thing people do that is wrong deserves the town chasing them with pitchforks. Most times being forgiving goes a long way. What blows my mind is don't these people see the dash cam??!?!?
