About to be an F owner!!!
Guys, I am about to pick up a F this coming weekend! But I feel like I need some feedback from current F owners on the deal I'm getting.
Here's the details:
The car is a 2012 with 19k miles and he seller is asking for $41k, honestly am I getting a good deal? Should I be paying more or less? The car has a clean title, pink in hand. It's currently registered out of state (Nevada) so I would need to register it here (California) once I get it. Has anyone been through this and did you run into any issues/complications? Also wanted to mentioned that he (seller) bought the car from a guy in Nevada but hasn't register it yet in CA due to having to pay taxes/fees on it. As soon as he bought it, decided that he wanted to sell it. So here I am about to buy it...what do you guys think? Go or no go?

Price seems very fair. I would be slightly concerned that someone just purchased a car and then is going to sell it immediately. If it was me I would want to take it to Lexus for PPI before buying the car.

What is PPI? The reason why he selling it doesn't really bother me, I'm more worried about possible hidden things that might be wrong with the car.

Or he bought it dirt cheap in NV (for some reason a bunch of cars from NV end up down here, when I was looking to buy I looked at two at a dealer and one private party that came from NV), and is trying to make a few grand without paying taxes on the car.

This. With 19k miles on it, the guy could have tacked all 19k of them and there would still be nothing wrong with it. I am sure once he realized he has to pay 9.5% sales tax, or about $3800, he realized he was in over his head.

Lots of people buy cars they don't know nothing about and then find out their insurance is too high, it takes too much gas, it's too fast, too flashy, their wife hates it, WHATEVER.
Get the car inspected by someone professional and check the paint and body.

The seller did a PPI at a Lexus dealership and gave me the report. Everything looks fine except for brake pads and tires which the dealer recommended to be replace. He said he replaced both brake pads, rotors, and tires, which made me think did the original owner track the car to the point that it needed replacing?? Given that the car only has 19k miles, it seems to early to be replacing those parts... What do you guys think?
