A farewell
Hey F'ers,
Long time lurker, new poster. It's been many good years but it's time I moved along and I thought I share my story and say thanks and farewell. Growing up I watched my dad own a couple different Lexus and I had always considered my purchasing of a Lexus to be the point at which I had/would "arrive".
Fast forward many years to directly after graduating college, I bought my first Lexus, a 2000 ES300,

Man did I love that car. Smooth, soft and quiet. It was everything that I imagined refined luxury represented.
A few more years later, I purchased a 2012 IS-350.

Great car as well. Sporty and quick, I loved it but it was lacking that "special" quality that I was looking for in a car. At the time I had seen several IS-Fs at the dealerships and drooled over them. Little did I know that in a few years I would be in position to buy one. This brings me to 2014 when I purchased a 2011 IS-F.

Outstanding car and a real dream come true! I've done a few mods over the past couple years, RR air/oil separator, intake, wheels, vinyl rear faux diffuser. Mostly keeping it stock for resale as well as keeping it at very low miles, topping off at 21K. As with everyone else, enough power is never enough so I've been patiently hoping and now watching the RR/TT tune threads, biding my time until the day that FI arrives... But times as well as my tastes have changed.
Truth be told I'm at the point in life where I feel like the weekend/fun car that's currently in the garage needs to be the one that stays in the garage until the kids leave the house. While I love the F I just couldn't see myself enjoying it in 15 years. So tl;dr, I decided to move on to a 2014 Cayman S with just over 6K on the clock.

I am ecstatic! Porsche has been a life long dream that I never imagined would be attainable. The cars are night and day difference both awe inspiring in their own right. The F even stock is stupid fast, while the S is like a surgeons scalpel and might as well be a Ferrari considering the attention it draws in the mountain state of CO.
Anyway thanks for all the silent help I've received on this forum since my 350 days as well as the sense of community that has been fostered. By the by, my F went out to Indiana in trade, so if anyone comes across a starfire pearl with ~21K miles for sale, it's likely mine and I'm more than willing to vouch for the condition and quirks of it. I'm also planning on selling a few mods and unused OEM items once my post count is up to muster...
thanks again and cheers. I'll be keeping up with the group from the shadows for a while yet.

The Cayman S is a fabulous weekend toy to play with.
You probably already know that proper upkeep and maintenance on any Porsches will be twice that of the F. Still envious though.
