Default Rear door speakers blown

So it took a little while to pin down which ones are blown, but it seems the tiny door speakers in the rear doors, both sides, are blown. I do have a warranty. Should I just go through that and get the same ones again or should I consider just replacing them with better ones?

EDIT: I guess I should say I'm pretty certain they're blown. They at least sound like a blown speaker.

Under warranty? I say get them replaced for free! Get your money's worth! ML system/speakers aren't the best in our F's but they're expensive to replace out of pocket.

I figured as much. I'll probably go that route.

I would go through warranty. If not for good sound you would be better off getting a door speaker with a tweeter. The problem with that tweet is its right by your ear and its very symboly with songs. I thought about actaully disconnecting mine and putting in better door speakers with a 5.1 an stealth box sub.

I wasn't real happy with the ML. I have a double din tv in the is300 and it sounds million time better the the F. All factory speakers in is300. I also didnt by the F for speaker quality though.

Like said above. Expensive to replace factory so go through the dealer if you want to stay factory.

Can warranty really cover the speakers?

If you go the aftermarket route, there's tons of options to choose from. I'd get JL Audio 2-way speakers. It'll sound much better than ML.

I was just thinking about that today. I'd welcome some suggestions for replacements. I've used Infinity in the past but welcome to other ideas. Might as well go for better quality if I'm going to replace them. There's no crazy things to be done with new speakers in this car, right? Just the usual plug and play?

PS: What size do I need to look for? This is for the small speaker by the door handle at the top of the door.

That is just a tweeter. You could prob buy and tweeter and replace. I dont think a factory tweeter would be that bad.

If you wanting to go aftermarket route. JL has great quality compnent speakers for responsible price. I have a friend that's into serious stereo equipment and ht buys like $1200 pair component setups. He has way better hearing then I do obviously bc I cant tell a freaking difference.

I have rocked JL for years. Subs as well. Highest of quality in my opinion.

JL does make good stuff. Do you know what size is correct for that spot? Did a search on Crutchfield and it was giving me 6x9 options.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure tweeters are universally 1".

One site I just saw said they're 25mm. JL's site says this is a 1"(25mm). So I guess these might work?

EDIT: I'm assuming this is just the typical plug and play install of a speaker? nothing crazy needs to be done?

Let's try this bump again.

I was reading where the speakers have to have the correct ohm to allow the amp to operate properly. the JL tweeters I found are 8ohm. no idea what the factory ones are
