Default Side Mirror Shakes

Hey all,

First post, just joined today. Was lucky enough to pick up an 08 with only 26k miles 3 weeks ago from Virginia. I've gone through and swapped LEDs for all of the interior LEDs. Last night I finally had the time and I put VLED flank bulbs in the puddle lights under the mirrors. Today when driving I noticed the mirrors are vibrating significantly, so much that I have to readjust them back into position.

I don't see where I could have broken anything to cause this. I know there's some adhesive on the back of the mirror and wondering if I should go ahead and replace this? Or did I just not fit the glass back in 100%? Tried some searches without any definite solutions. Figured I'd ask fellow owners.

Thanks!

The mirrors themselves or the entire housing is vibrating?

Just the mirrors. They vibrate all over the place, I adjust them back, and off they go bouncing around again

If it wasnt shaking before you swapped the led, then it has to be one of those screw was loose or something is not tighten double check again .

You mean the 4 screws behind the glass?

Most likely the mirror isn't pressed in all the way. They should snap in.

Yup I agree...sounds like one of the snaps is not compressed in or it broke during the removal

They need a lot of force to snap them back into place.

So I checked the mirrors this evening. They're pressed in completely. I actually heard them snap into place last night, so I figured they were. I'm going to go more in depth tomorrow with it since I have all day. If they are pressed in completely then I am going to apply new adhesive and hopefully that resolves the situation. The passenger side shakes significantly less for some reason

Part is from ijdmtoy. I got the dour courtesy lights with clear lenses, the SMD panel for the front and rear dome light. They are insanely bright The front panel does not fit correctly, it is not the right shape, tried reshaping the board but could not get it to work, so I scrapped that and use wide angle SMD bulbs from VLEDs instead. the trunk light is a festoon bulb from VLED, puddle lights under the mirrors are VLED "flank" bulbs. I have bulbs for the tag lights as well when I can take the time to tackle that project, as it seems to be surprisingly more complicated than expected. I also want to replace the footwell lights but I do not know the bulb number. If anyone knows what the bulb number is, that'd be greatly appreciated.

Yes they are. If you're going to replace them you'll want to get the VLED flank bulbs since they are plugged in sideways

You probably accidentally damaged the innards. This is very easy to do especially since it's all plastic.

Has happened on my 4R and my GX. I bought Used/New mirror assemblies
