Still great results though, a 12 second car that's reliable.

Mash the throttle, sport mode, manual mode and kiss the rev limiter in each gear. Best time was a 12.383 @115 with gutted cats, borla, and removed spare.

M4 is fast and light. But that IS-F is a beauty might need header and 100 shot of NOS.

New M3/M4 is a fast car. So what?

I testdrove one before getting second hand ISF and I hated sound and engine characteristic. It's almost like big diesel - some turbo lag, lots of torque in mid-range, ****ty sound at high revs. Engine feels like it doesn't want to be revved till the end.

I just wouldn't be able to live with such an engine, so I went with ISF. And here I am

But if good 1/4 mile time is what you need, than... get GT-R

I want to see a fully bolt on catless IS F w/ tune. Then a fully bolt on catless IS F w/tune & supercharger. In the future versus one of these. Let's not bash them or bring on reliability facts, like they do. I do want to see one of our cars wipe the smile off their face one day. 8 year old techno/ power vs modern!...lol

Beamer is nice but I'll stick with Lexus sport, reliable and luxury

Both are very nice cars. I personally prefer the ISF based on its rareity. Although the M3/4 is faster and looks really nice, I see at least a couple of them every month, whereas I may go 6 months and not see another ISF.

I LOVE how M3 and now that its the M4 in coupe form, M4 owners get their jollies off of ripping ISF's, as if they were being made in numbers that threatened the existence of the M3/M4 (and that's one of the great things about ISF's, you won't see yourself coming and going every 5 minutes in most bigger cities.

Having owned several Acuras including an 02 CL that came with Acura's one big F-up, the 5 speed auto trans that was nearly guaranteed to eat itself from inside out that came on the gen TL and CL, but that with changing the tranny fluid regularly and not beating the hell out of it, along with a semi-fix from Acura/Honda that helped too, I never had an issue and much like Lexus, zero other issues in the 3 years I owned it, a Honda Civic with a silky smooth 4 that put my A4 motor to shame, more on that in a bit and even a Chevy Astro work van with 260k+ miles on it, regularly pulls a heavy trailer (with trailer brakes) and still runs perfect, I'm still puzzled as I've also owned two MB's and a Audi A4, which like you ought to expect with any supposedly over engineered German make, will spend lots of time away from home, specifically in the garage!

Why do M3 owners mainly (since M4 has only come out recently and I'm guessing the haters aren't buying them new) feel the need to bash ISF's, when you can simply count on SOMETHING going wrong on your Audi, BMW or MB regularly and loaner shmoaner, I don't need the hassle and have yet to see any s65's of any variety as loaner cars!

Lastly, back to Honda vs Audi 4 cyl comparison. I'd bought a not so used A4 1.8T (now the 2.0T) with under 40k miles on it and honestly that motor, which VW/Audi is so proud to say they've built 1.6 million or trillion or whatever of, in may forms was a rough as the old 4 banger my buddy had in HS in has 84 or Chevy Cavalier and turbo???? I had mine checked to be sure it was working right when I took it into the indy mechanic I used after wArranty ran out to be sure turbo WORKED! That hunk of junk could get out of its own way and was so damn rough, yet the Civic I bought in college with 150k n the clock was sooth as silk!

Unless you get a kick out of auto repair shops, skip all the German makes!

i definitely love how m3-m4 look and perform but one think is for sure the reliability is not there and it is one of the things we all love about our F's

I could see the isf taking the edge with the above granted the m was stock or either a 6spd manual that the driver could not shift well, but with that race octane fuel and tune, it'll be tough...
