Default My Future ISF... maybe

I've got a deposit down on an ISF that I want but I also want to hear some second opinions first. The car is 2009MY USB with about 65k on the odometer being sold in Houston Texas. I'm planning to drive down there in a few days to look and to get an independent inspection done.

I don't know if I want to post a link for it but I will PM it to anyone that wants to add or has any insight into this vehicle, like I said I am pretty sure we are going to purchase it in a few days. Thanks all

Here is the link: http://www.texasdirectauto.com/for-s...P262895006197/

I got mine in the Houston area as well. Those miles aren't bad for an '09. the vehicle might be within months of the 6/70 powertrain warranty expiring so obviously have the guy check that out.
Also, south Texas has had some heavy storms in the past few years so you might have the inspector check for any evidence of flooding or deepwater crossings. Good luck and if you get one you will love it!

I'd look at the following if they're available:

-service history
-any claims or noted work done on the vehicle
-warranty/extended warranty rolled over to new owner

Because you'll be getting an independent check of the vehicle, I'd look into:

-rotors and brake pads
-tire tread
-camber wear
-under the vehicle (rust, corrosion, discoloration, etc.)

But it does appear to be in really good condition. Normal wear and tear for a 7 year old vehicle will be present, but it's nothing a good fresh bath and detail can't correct. Best of luck and I hope the independent check goes well.

It looks super clean in the pics. Do a couple test runs and look up its history. If anything, it will probably just need spark plugs, air and cabin filter. Also check for any coolant leaks....especially around the water pump.

My person opinion is to buy the 2011 or newer model. I have an 08 with 129,000 for $20,000 that I bought about 8 months ago. I never imagined I could buy an ISF for 20k so I went for it and the car has been great. So that being said I would go with the newer model because I have heard the suspension is refined and better, the headlights look better and have the LED or HID strip below the main light which I think makes the car look awesome, and I think there are some other updates to that year. Now if the blue combo with the lower miles is exactly what you want, then go for it! But my person opinion is if I'm spending $32,000 on the car, I'm going to buy the 2011 model with a maybe a few more miles on it than the blue one that you are looking at.

I actually buy and sell cars as a side job. I fly out and drive the car back for people who are interested in a car but can't find it around them. Ill drive this bad boy down to texas or where ever you are located for you!

But this would be the car that I would buy if I were you!

Everything was covered by previous posters, so I will touch the USB color, which always been a favorite.

1. Get ready, because you are going to get some ATTENTION with that color. Just how it goes with red, blue, yellow, orange, lime green etc etc.

2. When detailed and waxed (or sealed) this color looks AMAZING, it changes shades depending on the angle of the sun. Sometimes it looks blue, and sometimes purple.

Good luck!

If you're going to spend that much, might as well get a 2011+. You get the LSD and LED headlights along with other things.

That thing is sweet, I almost want it. Been taking it in the sac with the stock market lately. I wonder if spark plug replacement is any more difficult with the ISF vs the is350.

This!

Other than that it's a good looking car.

Had a friend buy a car from them about 3 years ago maybe 4. Real clean when he picked it up. Had a dealer maintenance history. He still has it today with no complaints. Good company to deal with!

Thanks guys, I am driving out Monday to look at it in person. Hopefully I can pick it up for a little less than asking price. It is the color combo that I am after.

I would agree with this post . I did gobs of research on the differences of the models and i found the 2010+ was the way to go ( especially with the torsen Diff ) but the 2011 was a deal sealer for me with the updated suspension bits and the LED lights. This is a perfect example and is priced pretty reasonably well for its options and condition.

The original one you are looking at is not that bad either. The price is ok.... I would try to see if you could maybe get it for 28-30K. reason being is you can get a similarly priced 2011 for 33-36K. I personally would pay a little more for a 2011 USB ISF.

I also purchased my ISF from a Houston small dealer and paid 35K for a 2011 with 55K on it and fully loaded. I took it to Lexus of Clearlake for a PPI and they ended up doing all the recalls on it and gave it a seal of approval before i picked it up. ( I flew from Cali picked it up and drove it back) If you want the service advisor i worked with let me know. he was a great dude and took good care of me during the whole transaction.

Good luck and let us know how it all worked out...
