(Soon to be) New Owner 2012 IS-F
#16
Sounds like a good price, but my first thought was how many previous owners...? I know people have mixed views of Carfax, but i will say before i bought my '12, i drove a 2011 that felt really nice but it had five previous owners, yikes!
I ended up buying a single-owner car and also was Lexus certified Pre-owned, which gave me a little more peace of mind and extended warranty coverage.
On the other hand, these are Toyota-quality vehicles so breakdown risk is low, good luck and let us know how it goes.

I'm looking at F's too. Did you happen to buy this one?

Thanks all. I'm looking forward to my delivery and lurking around this forum, seems like a friendly community.
It took me a while of searching, but I finally found a link to actual production numbers: http://lexus2.custhelp.com/app/answe...ist/p/190,1292
Only 568 2012s and 139 2013s according to the above site, which makes this the rarest car I will have owned so far. Coming from the Porsche community, the holy grail of recent Porsches is the 997 GT3RS 4.0 ... there were actually 600 of those made!

I'm not sure what I'll do with the 997. Leaning towards selling it unless I'm completely underwhelmed with the F. I doubt this will be the case, as I'm not a pro driver or anything (I've done just one HPDE). I assume the pros of the F vs. the 997 will include interior quality (997 is made with this really crappy "soft plastic," I replaced most of the interior bits after I bought it), and having back seats and trunk space.
I'll refrain from commenting about the driving experience itself until I get the F, although I will definitely miss driving stick w/ the numeric racing short shifter.

Never got to the exact sequence number but if I remember correctly there were only 7 manufactured after mine that were 2013 MY (sold in the U.S.) then the '14's began.
