Coming soon, another IS F owner
Hey guys,
Been drooling on these forums for a while now and soon to pick up an IS F, coming over from the Euro side. Been building cars for about 20 years and I've already bought mods such as a WALD rep trunk spoiler, Ventross CF diffuser, led rear lenses and JDM power folding mirrors(all from great peeps on this forum) and soon either RSR or BC coilovers and a custom Magnaflow exhaust. My hangup are wheel sizes and offsets, I searched the forums and found many opinions regarding 19 and 20". I was thinking a 20" with these specs
20x9 (+30)
20x10 (+25)
245/35/20 Front
275/30/20 Rear
Thoughts?
Here are a couple past projects.

Hi.
The rears will require fender work, and the fronts will too, especially with those sidewalls.
To put it into perspective, a 19x9.5 +38 wheel on 265/30 tires all around requires rear rolling/shaving and some modification to the front. The ISF is not a car that accepts low offset and/or wide wheels easily, especially if you're lowered.
You may have to use smaller sidewall tires.
IMO, go with a 19" lightweight wheel, and enjoy the heritage of the car on the track
Nice rides too, digging the B5

Welcome to CL and the F side!
As JDMV8 stated earlier, it won't be a simple bolt on with the sizes and tires you're looking to get. At the very least, I would recommend rolling and pulling the fenders. With 20s, I would not recommend sidewalls any smaller than 35 to be on the safe side. There is an wheel fitment calculator on the forums, and that gives a general perspective with how much poke and clearance you'll have if you were to go with those exact specs.
Best of luck to you and definitely enjoy your F!

Hey Mike, was up?
It was great meeting up with you and Ron the other day.
I'm goin thru the same thought process regarding wheels. There are so many options. Those rollers Ron has available are awfully tempting, if only they were a different color (my F is silver aka "Mercury Metallic").
Welcome to the board, & keep us posted when you pull the trigger.
