absolutely addictive!

made a big rookie error of not changing to a better brake fluid so that's one tip for next time, I didn't really have any problems but it was a pretty hot day and some of the other F guys lost brake pedals / boiling fluid and such!

great learning experience either way!

MileHIFcar I couldn't believe it, I have tried to get a ride in one before and it was a 'raffle' scenario.. this time they go.. oh btw.. if you want a ride in the LFA just put your name on the whiteboard..

the driver didn't exactly hold back either kicking it out around the last corner..

I 100% stock brake rotors, pads, and fluid and have never had an issue. I only do 18-20 minute sessions and have topped out at 130 on one track. Usually topping out at 105-110 mph . All good with oem for me

interesting..

two friends with F's both lost brake pedal 'feel' and had to pit-in after a few long sessions.
I never lost brake pedal feel but the lexus mechanic(s) said everyones brake fluid was boiling??

it was about 36 degrees that day also - and not to mention track was new to everyone (braking way too much probably)

after I was told about the boiling fluid I let the car rest for 20min or so and relied alot less on the brakes and more on weight shifting to avoid the pedal loss others had mentioned!

was also advised not to use the park brake after a session as it could cause problems due to the heat in the discs? makes sense.

but good to know that it really shouldnt be an issue!

Cool brake fluid to bake fluid

That's one thing I've changed on my first time being on the track is my brake fluid, I purchased the motul 600 and my brake pad as well...i remember this guys at Fontana told me he lost his brake pressure and started pumping until he got it back..scary

yeah I freaked out when I heard that.. backed off.. lol

but I would have to assume it wouldnt be an instant loss the next time you hit the brakes, you would notice a difference and it would progressively worsen during the lap? id hope..

Nope. Brakes worked perfectly to slow for turn 8 and 10, and didn't have any pedal into 11. Had to pump furiously to get anything, and hit the pits immediately.

Here is the last video from our second time attack runs at PPIR last weekend. I think we will stick with open lapping days. nearly 8 hrs of drive and waiting for 2 runs just is not worth it. Still a fun event. After a spot alignment the night before and some damping changes in the parking lot the car is more precise than ever. Nearly everything is spherical at this point and the XT970 compound pads are spot on. Next event will be to test the prototype csfrace oil cooler setup we are co-developing.

PS upgraded brake fluid is a must, no questions. We cannot run the tracks we do without it. We run AFCO high temp fluid and have never had an issue since. Prior to that we would boil after 6 laps with aggressive pads. The factory Brembo pistons conduct way too much heat into the fluid.

Too cute not to add . They wore them all the way to the mall and on way to dinner and on the same day I was killing it at AMP. Not a lot of cars will let you do that

Hi Guys,
Here is some short video of my F on Autodrom Most - short track (around 2,5km) in Czech Republic.

My 2012 IS-F is completely stock. Front tires were already a bit tired before the track day (the purpose was to finish them and put new PSS

My impressions from IS-F (previously I owned e90 330i):

PLUS:
- power
- OEM brakes are fantastic
- overall stability
MINUS:
- nose-heavy + OEM tires = a lot of understeer
- heavy
- steering is so-so
- missing manual transmission

I'm putting a lot of km on my car, so I don't like mods. But with OEM wheels/tires IS-F feels too heavy and not playful enough on this short track. My e90 330i was almost 200kg lighter and on this track it shows.
I'm kind of disappointed with OEM IS-F track performance

your comments are hilarious...lol...that's a nice track out there...^^^^ absolutely agree...the car is heavy, but sometimes it depends on the track that you're involve....
